Question Ben Spead · May 29, 2024

Let's say I have an InterSystems IRIS instance with 6 Namespaces:

  • Foo1
  • Foo2
  • Foo3
  • Foo4
  • Foo5
  • Bar

And the number of Foo# namespaces can increase at any time for a number of reasons.  I need to ensure that they all have identical configuration globals stored in a DB called CONFIG, so I do the following in my configuration file:

[Map.%ALL]
Global_SYS=%DEFAULTDB
Global_SYS("CommonConfig")=CONFIG
Global_SYS("CommonOtherSettings")=CONFIG
Global_SourceControl=CONFIG

This will ensure that all Namespace see the exact same settings when they reference ^SYS("CommonConfig") or ^SourceControl, etc.

Now.

Hello!

Trying to configure tortoise GIT in Linux System

NAME="Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server"
VERSION="7.9 (Maipo)"
My steps

1. Enable [write-access](http://docs.intersystems.com/ens20151/csp/docbook/DocBook.UI.Page.cls?K…) to CACHELIB database via the Management Portal. (This is required for csp-page with settings import.)
2. Import project in %SYS:

    %SYS> do $system.OBJ.ImportDir("/arch/cache-tort-git-master/","*.xml","ck",,1)

3. Now you can disable write-access to CACHELIB.
4. In Management Portal select the new %SourceControl.

Question Antonio Souza · Apr 1, 2024

On IRIS version 2024.1.0.262.0 I have a table that store streams as %GlobalCharacterStream.
But depeding on the blob being saved I get the error: [Error: <<MAXSTRING>]

I had that with Caché, but to solve that I'd just enable the long strings on the page System Administration > Configuration > System Configuration > Memory and Startup > Enable Long Strings.
But for Iris I can't find that configuration, I looked on every config page from the portal and couldn't find it.

Btw this blobs are stored on Caché and the system using IRIS is reading from Caché and saving on IRIS.

We have JSON type data in a Dynamic Object.  Is there a simple way to export / dump that data to a delimited string or file?

e.g.

Results={"ClassA":{"ClassName":"ClassA","ACount":367191880,"BCount":367191880,"CurrentDiff":0,"PreviousDiff":0,"ReportDate":"2024-03-02 00:00:00"}
"ClassB":{"ClassName":"ClassB","ACount":5352149227,"BCount":5352149227,"CurrentDiff":0,"PreviousDiff":0,"ReportDate":"2024-03-02 00:00:00"}}

Question Scott Roth · Jul 19, 2022

When I try to run Interoperability -> Interface Maps in 2022.1 on a very large namespace, I keep getting timeout errors. Even though I add filtering by Category, Text Search, etc... it still errors out no matter what. However if it is ran in one of our smaller namespaces it runs just fine. WRC told us the namespace is too big, however that should not matter on how many services, processes, and operations you have running.

  • Has anyone had this issue with Interoperability - Interface Maps timing out because of the size of the namespace?

Question Pierre LaFay · Feb 4, 2024

Hello everyone,

I am looking for the syntax or the way to use a class created in the "BNA" Namespace (my application) from the %SYS Namespace.

Here is the context:

I have a "BNA" application contained in the "BNA" NS, this application provides a user creation functionality. This feature creates both the user in a table in the application and in the Iris system.

I created an initialization script for my database to be able to reset it at will, this script starts by emptying the database of this data, then initializes the basic data.

Question Logan Kitchen · Jan 11, 2024

I have some databases in my cache instance that were created from an online backup file (.cbk). I would like to see the information for these databases in the Databases and SQL sections of Management Portal, but they only appear in the Classes section. I can navigate to the files in my cache instance terminal and see the CACHE.DAT files, and a check in the terminal shows that they are mounted.
This is what I see in the terminal for each database when I check to see if the databases are mounted:
%SYS>set db="/path/for/mydatabase"
%SYS>w ##class(SYS.Database).%OpenId(db).

Question Alan Watts · Jan 2, 2024

We are trying to use Git for Source Code control in our existing application. Currently all Source Control is a manual process. We are running IRIS on a Windows server. The git extension has been installed and initial configuration done. We do get the git tab in Studio. We keep getting the following error:

Git Status:
fatal: detected dubious ownership in repository at 'C:/KBS/dev/server/db'
'C:/KBS/dev/server/db' is owned by:
'S-1-1-0'
but the current user is:
'S-1-5-18'
To add an exception for this directory, call: git config --global --add safe.directory C:/KBS/dev/server/db.

Question Pierre LaFay · Dec 29, 2023

Hi,

Our application needs to create system users from a request form.

To use Security classes, it is necessary to have rights to use the %SYS namespace, which is not the case for users who validate requests.

It is not desirable for these users to have this role permanently, so I proceeded as follows:

I created a facade class for the Security.Users, Security.Roles, Security.

Hello, How are you doing?

I'm currently developing a proyect in wich I want to use %SYSTEM.Event to process queues. I realized that if a queue has events pending to be sent to the listeners, when I restart the cube the queue with all its events are deleted.

Is there a way to store the queue with their messages in a Global?

I've checked the documentation but I can't find any option for this prupose.

Thank you!

Question Colin Brough · Nov 21, 2023

How do we trigger a BPL Business Process on a time schedule?

We are building a production that takes a steady stream of (HL7) lab results messages, processes them and stores them in a temporary database table. At scheduled points during the day (eg 0800, 1300, 1600) the database is queried and messages sent on to the downstream system. Aiming that the Processes to be implemented in BPL if possible - but we are having trouble triggering code in a BPL as a scheduled job.

Question Enrico Parisi · Sep 2, 2022

I'm converting a .NET gateway interface (call .NET code from IRIS) from the old "Caché style" that use imported proxy class to the new $system.external .NET gateway as documented in:

https://docs.intersystems.com/iris20221/csp/docbook/DocBook.UI.Page.cls…

For simple case it works and I'm fine, unfortunately I don't understand how to implement/access .NET arrays from IRIS and unfortunately the documentation has no info whatsoever on how to work with arrays.

What I'm looking for is how to implement the same code as described in the old .

Hello,

First of all thanks for your time reading this post, and thanks for your help with your answers, thanks.

We have the following doubt: We need to create a REST Service in HealthShare, to process incoming calls with the following URL's format:

https://host:port/api/studies?patientId=11473564

To accomplish this task, we have previously read:

Hi Community,

We have web gateway installed  as a standalone on the web server and when I access it through the direct link https://mydomain.com/csp/bin/Systems/Module.cxw, it doesn't require authentication it just opens as per screenshot below.

There is a requirement to add authenticate using username and password as with the webgateway installed with iris, I want to get to the below screen before gaining access to web gateway.

Thanks in advance.

Question Timothy Leavitt · Sep 12, 2023

It's a feature of ObjectScript (perhaps widely known, perhaps not) that if you open the same object ID multiple times, you end up with the same OREF. For example:

USER>set obj1 = ##class(Sample.Person).%OpenId(1)

USER>set obj2 = ##class(Sample.Person).%OpenId(1)

USER>w obj1,!,obj2
1@Sample.Person
1@Sample.Person

Generally speaking, this is an important feature - you won't end up accidentally modifying the same record via multiple paths and losing some of the changes.
