This tag relates to the discussions on the development of analytics and business intelligence solutions, visualization, KPI and other business metrics management.
There are several options how to deliver user interface(UI) for DeepSee BI solutions. The most common approaches are:
use native DeepSee Dashboards, get web UI in Zen and deliver it in your web apps.
use DeepSee REST API, get and build your own UI widgets and dashboards.
The 1st approach is good because of the possibility to build BI dashboards without coding relatively fast, but you are limited with preset widgets library which is expandable but with a lot of development efforts.
The 2nd provides you the way to use any comprehensive js framework (D3, Highcharts, etc) to visualize your DeepSee data, but you need to code widgets and dashboards on your own.
Today I want to tell you about yet another approach which combines both listed above and provides Angular based web UI for DeepSee Dashboards - DeepSee Web library.
Every day Johns Hopkins University publishes new data on coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic status.
I built a simple InterSystems IRIS Analytics dashboard using InterSystems IRIS Community Edition in docker deployed on GCP Kubernetes which shows key measures of the disease outbreak.
This dashboard is an example of how information from CSV could be analyzed with IRIS Analytics and deployed to GCP Kubernetes in a form of InterSystems IRIS Community Edition.
I have a persistent class “sp.SensorReading” which has a number of Properties: Date, SensorName, SensorReading. (sometimes multiple readings from the same sensor, on a given day)

This is my introduction to a series of posts explaining how to create an end-to-end Machine Learning system.
Starting with one problem
Our IRIS Development Community has several posts without tags or wrong tagged. As the posts keep growing the organization
of each tag and the experience of any community member browsing the subjects tends to decrease.
First solutions in mind
We can think some usual solutions for this scenario, like:
Last week, we announced the InterSystems IRIS Data Platform, our new and comprehensive platform for all your data endeavours, whether transactional, analytics or both. We've included many of the features our customers know and loved from Caché and Ensemble, but in this article we'll shed a little more light on one of the new capabilities of the platform: SQL Sharding, a powerful new feature in our scalability story.
Hi All,
We have been using DeepSee which has been the integrated Analytic Dashboard built over Cache Cubes. It works fine but it's visual capabilities are limited and most probably is getting phased out.
If I am not wrong, Tableau is the suggested alternative to DeepSee . It is expensive and a big and considerable shift from existing technology
I wanted to get an opinion of the community as to these few key points
- What other BI tools others have been using with IRIS and what have been their experience
- For which tools are the best inbuilt support / api's avaialble in IRIS
Easily transform a CSV file into a personalized preview of DeepSee - InterSystems BI
AnalyzeThis can be found on InterSystems Open Exchange. Use the Download link to navigate to GitHub and begin installing the project. Follow the “Installation” section of the GitHub README.
In an ever-changing world, companies must innovate to stay competitive. This ensures that they’ll make decisions with agility and safety, aiming for future results with greater accuracy. Business Intelligence (BI) tools help companies make intelligent decisions instead of relying on trial and error. These intelligent decisions can make the difference between success and failure in the marketplace. Microsoft Power BI is one of the industry’s leading business intelligence tools. With just a few clicks, Power BI makes it easy for managers and analysts to explore a company’s data. This is important because when data is easy to access and visualize, it’s much more like it’ll be used to make business decisions.
How are we doing THIS year versus the same period LAST year? This is a common need in Business Intelligence. In fact, many design specifications for reports make use of a comparison between a selected period (year, quarter, etc) up to a certain date (for example November 15th, 2016) and a summary of the same information for the previous year (i.e. up to November 15th, 2015). This post shows how to implement this in DeepSee.
Fast transfer. Pass globals, classes and tables from InterSystems IRIS to Python with ease and speed (10x faster than old QueryExecute). Documentation.
Hi there, We need your help, in the build pivot with DMX, we don't can run the pivot. The MDX use is:
WITH MEMBER [Measures].[CondicionesContCompleta] AS ( IIf([Measures].[CondicionesContCompleta] = Null, 0,[Measures].[CondicionesContCompleta] ) ) SELECT NON EMPTY ( [Gerencia].Gerencia].[Gerencia] ) ON ROWS, NON EMPTY ( [Measures].[CondicionesContCompleta] ) ON COLUMNS FROM [Condiciones]
and when we executed the pivot display the next dialog.
Error#5001: Expected operator within tuple: ('SELECT' @pos 156)(2)
In this article we are going to show the results of the comparision between IRIS and Postgress when handling Astronomy data.
Introduction
Since the earliest days of human civilization we have been fascinated by the sky at night. There are so many stars! Everybody has dreamed about them and fantasized about life in other planets.
I really love documentaries! Last weekend I was watching a Netflix documentary called This is Pop, because it was Analytics Contest time and I thought: Why not creating a pop song analytics with InterSystems Iris?
I recently discovered the Monitoring Activity Volume feature in IRIS and I was amazed by it. So, I put it to work in one of our productions. It is nice how easy it is to set up and all the possibilites that came with it.
But there's something weird: the numbers. Actually, one of the BP is stating a time of more than 6 seconds to process:
On this webinar, we’ll demo AtScale, InterSystems Reports (Logi), IRIS BI, IRIS NLP and answer the questions on how to develop, build, and deploy Analytics applications using InterSystems IRIS.

I built a dashboard to show hourly instrument capacities based on a term list. The term list consists of the TestInstrumentID and the number of tests that instrument can perform in 1 hour. The calculation works correctly and the data is accurate but periodically if you go to check the dashboard the percentages all get changed to 100% across every hour. If you check it later or add an additional site to the filter then the percentages correct themselves. I don't know what's causing this or how to troubleshoot it because it does calculate correctly but is not consistent.
I'm trying to immigrate some of my HealthInsight dashboards and pivot tables to another HS instance.
In some pivot tables, I defined them with a set of calculated dimensions defined in the analyzer, e.g as below:
Then when I exported the cubes and pivot tables in used to my new envirmonment. When I open my pivot tables again, the calculated dimensions are missing and hence my pivot tables no longer work:
I' have done some tests with Caché and Apache Zeppelin. I want to share my experince to use both systems together. I'll try to describe all steps that are required to config Zeppelin to connect to Caché.
