Approach: As an example, we’ll extend a demo asset management application for portfolio and trade compliance, using iKnow technology to translate agreements into rules that ensure portfolio compliance prior to trade execution.

In this session, we’ll discuss how easy it is to extend a classic application that deals with straightforward transactions, to also offer insights and actions based on more complex, unstructured data. We’ll present a use case on portfolio compliance from the financial services industry.

Here is a snippet that I learned yesterday

You can define an index on a collection property but when I tried to use it, I failed. I was using

     Select ….. where …. :xx %INLIST collproperty

But this will not use an index, but the equivalent syntax

     SELECT .. WHERE ... FOR SOME %ELEMENT(collproperty) (%VALUE=:xx)

will use the index

I recently published the "appmsw-docbook" module for deploying the solution not by individual programs, but by the entire database. This solution allows you to deploy a project without source codes.

The past two days at the InterSystems Global Summit have been nothing short of extraordinary, and I'm thrilled to share the highlights of this incredible experience with you!

QEWD is assumed by most people to only integrate with IRIS (or Cache) via a connection through IRIS's high-performance C interface. This requires QEWD (and its Node.js environment) to be installed and configured on the same machine as IRIS.

I'm frequently asked if QEWD can run on a separate server (or servers), and access IRIS (or Cache) over a network connection. The answer is yes it can, but the information on how to set it up in this way has been admittedly a bit tricky to discover.

Prior to 2017.1, whenever I created a new namespace using Portal on Ensemble or HealthShare it was automatically configured to host productions. This used to irritate me, because sometimes I'm setting up a namespace (for example, to host our Deltanji tool) that doesn't need the extra Ensemble baggage.
