OpenAPI Suite - Part 1

Hi Community,

I would like to present my last package OpenAPI-Suite, this is a set of tools to generate ObjectScript code from an OpenAPI specification version 3.0. In short, these packages allow to:

  • Generate server-side class. It’s pretty similar to the generated code by ^%REST but the added value is the version 3.0 support.
  • Generate HTTP client classes.
  • Generate client production (business services, business operation, business process, Ens.Request, Ens.Response) classes.
  • A web interface to generate and download the code or generate and compile directly on the server.
  • Convert specification from version 1.x, 2.x to version 3.0.

Metabase IRIS Driver

Hi InterSystems Community! I'm Sidd one of the interns at the Singapore office and I recently had the chance to develop to develop a driver to connect IRIS to Metabase to help some of the Sales Engineers here. I was encouraged to share it here so that if any others have a similar issue they can use the driver and as well as get some feedback on potential improvements. It is a recommended security practice to login into sensitive Administrator Portals without any input passwords. Thus, it is necessary to identify and authenticate the users correctly. A common technique employed by web portals and mobile applications is to use Google social login. Today, Google Gmail has 2 billion users (source: https://www.usesignhouse.com/blog/gmail-stats). Therefore, it is a perfect shared login service to utilize to login InterSystems IRIS users when they need to manage their instances. This article will detail all the steps to embed Google Login into your InterSystems Management Portal.

Programming and languages

Being a programmer nowadays is basically the geek version of being a polyglot. Of course, most of us here, in the InterSystems Community, “speak ObjectScript”. Howeever, I believe this wasn’t the first language for many people. For instance, I had never heard about it prior to getting the appropriate training at Innovatium.

Hibernate is the most popular framework to do ORM (Object Relational Mapping) projects. With Hibernate a software can use the main DBMS in the market, including the capability to change the database vendor any time, without source code impact. This is possible because the Hibernate supports dialects. Each database product has a different dialect that can be assigned into a configuration file. So, if a software is using Oracle and is looking to evolve to InterSystems IRIS, just change the configuration file with connection and dialect information.

When creating custom Business Hosts, it's often necessary to add properties to the class for additional settings that will be used in the initialization or operation of the host. The property name itself isn't always very descriptive, so it's an advantage to have a custom caption display with the field.

IRIS-HL7v2Gen is a CSP application that facilitates the dynamic generation of HL7 test messages. This process is essential for testing, debugging, and integrating healthcare data systems. Creating custom login pages with %CSP.Login

The %CSP.Login class is the utility class provided by InterSystems IRIS to do custom login pages. If you want to control your IRIS application authentication UI, you must extend %CSP.Login and override some methods according to your needs. This article is going to detail those methods and what you can do with them. In addition to that, you will get an explanation of the delegated authentication mechanism provided by ZAUTHENTICATE.mac routine.

I do love Global Masters (and all the rewards that I get from it) and one of my favourite activities is answering quiz questions. And just now I've had a really cute question What is the result of: WRITE "99" + "cents"? which brought a smile to my face (because I do love to add questions like this to the tests for my students). This made me think that I would really like to somehow show my appreciation to the author of this question.

The new production component driver for Deltanji enables highly granular management of InterSystems Interoperability Productions with tight integration into the management portal. We presented it at the InterSystems UK&I summit this week and it received a great reception. 

It solves the current pain-point of Interoperability Productions being defined in a single monolithic class definition. Deltanji source control increases the granularity with which items can be managed. Instead of versioning a single class definition containing all the configuration items, this new component driver allows individual configuration items to be managed separately. Each configuration item has its own versioning and revision history and can be checked-out, checked-in, and deployed independently of any other items in the same Production.

Because each configuration item within a production class is managed by Deltanji as a first-class component in its own right, Deltanji provides all the source control, versioning, and workflow capabilities that it provides for any other component.
