Atelier is InterSystems’ Eclipse-based development environment. It enables you to rapidly build solutions that leverage the performance, scalability, connectivity, and reliability of InterSystems’ comprehensive data platform.
I am new to IRIS and I was told I could get a great hands-on experince with the commuity edition that is currently availabe on mutliple cloud providers.
Unfortunately connecting Atelier to the given IRIS instance has been unsuccessful:

In Atelier is there a way to configure automatic indent when typing open/close braces? From what I've found this is usually left to the language (e.g. Java > Editors) but I couldn't find a setting under the Atelier preferences.

Notice the return after the open-brace doesn't indent and the close-brace doesn't unindent.
This is a quick tutorial how to install and use TFS in Atelier. It is based on my self experience and some tricks that I 've noted.
If you are used to using visual studio maybe you feel that is a bit slow and heavy, but you have the same TFS panel as you have in Visual Studio, so don't need any special "training" to use it
Context: Ensemble development with ObjectScript in a healthcare context - lots of HL7, and some web service stuff. We've used Studio up till now, alongside a lot of leaning on an external developer, but are expanding our team and doing more in-house. We are wondering about Visual Studio Code - not least because it looks easier to hook up to source management solutions. And we've noticed that the test environments that you get connected to when doing many of the online training courses on learning.intersystems.com give you a Visual Studio Code environment.
I am trying out Atelier. I have installed it and managed to get it to connect to a cache instance to test it. I have created a local project and I am trying to copy the server files to it using the "Copy to Project" item on the popup menus. I can copy both classes and routines to the project without issue, but when I try to copy the CSP files, I get the following message:
In Atelier when resolving conflicts with the server the screen shows the Local copy and Server copy and the differences, but depending on where the difference is you cannot tell what what the document is, you need to scroll to the top to see what it is before deciding what to do. It should indicate the class or routine name beside "Conflicting Server documents"
We have noticed that when compiling with Atelier (either Atelier itself or sending the code through the REST interface) that the build will fail if all brackets '() {} []' are not closed. This includes brackets opened in comments.
For example, this will fail:

}
I do not know if this issue has been fixed or if this issue has been brought up, but it has been a nuisance over here.
I'm just editing a class in Atelier. I have added below code into the class.
Set tStream=##class(%Stream.GlobalCharacter).%New()
When I type tStream. , It's not automatically suggesting properties of that object instance in Atelier. If I click "Ctrl+Space", It says "No completions available".
Is this functionality not available in Atelier yet Or Should I make some configuration changes in Atelier to make it available?
Hello everyone, I just started to learn how to create a web application. My aim is to create a web app with IRIS, which streams financial data. Can I connect some streaming-data API (for example IEX API) with the IRIS Platform? Or is there any other easier way to achieve my aim? Thank you in advance.

Hi - is anyone successfully using Atelier on a Mac? I seemed to have installed everything correctly but I cannot create Atelier projects or edit mac routines. Eclipse is giving a lot of spurious errors. I have yet to find anyone that has a good word to say about Eclipse and they all use other IDEs but that's what Intersystems have chosen. If people are able to use it on the Mac then fine, I'll just carry on googling... Thanks

It now also supports InterSystems IRIS Data Platform™, which enables you to rapidly build scalable, interoperable, and analytical data-rich applications.
Studio supports an option to display arguments using multiple lines. Is there an equivalent option for Atelier? The Studio setting is under Tools->Options, Environment->Class and is controlled by the "Multiline method arguments" flag.
When assigning the filter to the server explorer in Atelier to hide system classes, it works only in server explorer.
The same server explorer option linked to a given project does not appear to observe the filter setting from the server connection, and has no ability to assign filters at the project level. Is this an enhancement needed or am i missing the logical requirement?
Also when assigning a tag to this post, only Atelier 1.1 BETA comes up. I believe i am using the stable release of 1.1
I would like to share with you my experience regarding to debugging via Atelier.
I'm developing a REST API and would like to attach to a process when I call the API via a REST Client tool, for example Postman. The purpose is to inspect values from HEADER and BODY of the HTTP request during the debugging process.
Come on! How am I doing? I am going to demonstrate that by using a class from SAMPLES namespace.
1 - Open Atelier;

3 - Go to the method related to the URI that you need to debug;
It is my first post and I hope it is the first of many.
I would like to know if any of you knows how to use Tasks Managment in Atelier with .cls class. I think that is a important tool for productivity. Can this tool be used in Atelier? How to use it? I have tried to configure in Atelier preferences and I have not seen the option.
The article makes an attempt to demonstrate that Atelier is not just repeating the functionality of Caché Studio on a new IDE platform (Eclipse) but goes far beyond. Due to my personal experience, and challenges in former projects I picked first XSLT Debugging. Is it an ordinary task? Not at all. Who is doing XSLT every day? Probably none of us. Than why XSLT Debugging? Simply because there are solutions in our product portfolio which are using XSLT inside and those solutions require customization. Customizing XSLT without some sort of toolkit is more than challenging. The examples of such solutions starts with HealthShare IHE message, CDA vs. SDA transformations, goes through ZEN Reports, and ends by HealthShare CDA document viewer. Is that enough reason to spend time reading the whole article through not just the teaser?
I'm wondering if there is a setting to show generated classes in Atelier, if there is, I haven't been able to locate it. I have code which is generating other classes, but am unable to locate those classes on the Server tab, but can see them when I open studio. Is there a setting I'm missing?
