Log (Journal) shipping

I am new to Cache, we are trying to move a 4 TB database over the internet, but this will be take too long to copy the single backup file. In Oracle and MS-SQL Server there is an option of doing log shipping. Is there such an option in Cache?

I want to copy the initial backup file one weekend, then keep sending the Journals (logs) the new location.

I need to show the absence of data, so I have to join the list of predefined values with a result of a select statement.
However, it seems like Table Value Constructors in JOIN are either not supported, or I do not understand the syntax.
Basically, I am going for something like this:

Select v.valueId, m.name 
 From (values (1), (2), (3), (4), (5)) v(valueId)
     left Join otherTable m
        on m.id = v.valueId

Is it supported in Cache SQL or not?

How do I free licenses?

I have a server with public web application with Unauthenticated access and there seems to be a problem that CSP session ends, but associated license persists for some time (hours). If several users log in, we can hit license limit and all the other users get 503 Service unavailable error.

We are currently debugging it and moving to authenticated web applications, but is there a way to free these licenses quickly?

Incoming http messages setup

I need some help. I have a requirement where HL7 messages will be sent through http. I am trying to read through the documentation & want some guidance.

The client is asking for a URL. So should I simply send the Ensemble url to them? Does the message structure change? How does Ensemble handle incoming http messages? Do I just create a http business service and it should come across fine?

Has anyone done a project with http? Would love some information on how it worked for you

Hi there,

I'm currently getting myself acquired with Atelier and apart from having a lot of fun I noticed an issue that keeps me from merging changes to the server. When importing Files into my project it uses the right encoding (without telling it what encoding to use). When trying to synchronize it shows the Conflict Resolution, with the server side using the wrong encoding therefore displaying gibberish.

Error in file handling

When parsing a text file into a mumps routine I get this error

<FUNCT>Method+2^%CDCalBk

Any idea what can be causing this

Afternoon all,

Is there a way (at SQL level) to script out the definition of a Cache stored procedure from within SQL?

In SQL Server, I would do...

Select * from INFORMATION_SCHEMA.ROUTINES where ROUTINE_NAME = 'my_sproc_name'

But cant find anyway to do this in cache.

Note, its an old version of Cache, so "INFORMATION_SCHEMA" is not available.

I am trying to see the SQL definition in the sproc from SQL itself.

Java packages deprecated?

Short question: Why are (almost) all Java-Classes marked as deprecated? I never had any problems. And the docu for java-bindings are still (version 2016.2.1) not marked as deprecated. I ask, because in my case everything works and the writing of Unittests is easier than in Objectscript and i cannot find a note about the reason of the deprecation (at least in the classes i have checked).

Currently we're using InterSystems Cache Studio Client 2017.2.2 Build 865

I'm currently going through training and one of the videos mentioned using Control+Space to bring up the content assist window.

It's in reference to Atelier IDE, but I'm curious if Studio also might have a tool similar to that?

I have a business operation in an ensemble production to which I can send a test message which requires a date input. However, I can not seem to find out how I write the date in the test message. 1980-01-01, 01-01-1980, 50000 (cache integer encoding). But I constantly get an error: <ZODAT> zDateOfBirthDisplayToLogical+1^Ckey.Customer.1

Why do I upload files faster with webservice than with csp?

The soap protocol used by webservice has to go through http protocol. csp directly handles http, no xml encapsulation, so it should be faster.

After testing, for a 1M file, csp is about 0.1s slower. After the gateway connection to 1972, there is a stall of about 0.1s, not sure why.

Is there any way to make the file upload speed of csp faster than webservice?

webservice用的soap协议也得走http呀。csp直接处理http，少了xml的封装，按理来说应该更快。

经测试，1M的文件，csp慢了0.1s左右。在网关连接到1972后，有0.1s左右的停滞，不知道原因。

I am having a problem getting pair key authentication to work on my local PC. I am using freeSShd as the SFTP server. I generated private and public keys using putty gen . I used these keys to successfully log into the root directory using both Winscp and Putty. But this is not working with an FTP Operation. Below is the error that results. freeSSHd server log shows that I log in but immediately disconnect.

I am working on HS2015.1.1 Please help !!

Telnet in a ZEN page

I need to find a solution for a client that has ZEN based application. Certain parts of this application remained Terminal based for which a unsigned Java applet was used to embedded this within the application. The control is old and requires an old version of Java which IT folks are not happy about.

I am looking for a replacement that will allow a terminal, either telnet or directly use cTerm, window to be embedded within a web application, specifically ZEN, based on Cache. Any suggestions or success stories would be welcome.

Hello,

I have a problem with an Ensemble instance on Windows to access to a network shared directory. Ensemble service (services.msc) is executed with a user which has access to this network shared directory :

- When I try to copy or access files from a terminal ==> this is OK : the command w ##class(%SYS.ProcessQuery).%OpenId($Job).OSUserName returns the user defined in Ensemble service logon screen.
