Hi Community,

As you may know, this year's Spanish Technical Articles contest will be in May. I am going to make a series of articles to support you in the creation of your articles, giving tips and tricks. Perhaps they will be useful for the contest you have active in this community as well.

As you may know, one of the bonuses or extra points you can receive is to add a video tutorial to your article. You may not even know how to approach this issue, no problem! I'm here to give you some tips that you can apply not only to the creation of these videos, but to any other.

Dear Developer Community,

It seems the Grinch got a little mischievous and swiped our recap before it could make its grand debut! 🎄💚 But don’t worry — our developer elves are hard at work tracking it down, and the full recap will be online shortly.

Hang tight, and we promise to have it back in time to spread all the holiday cheer (and the details you’re waiting for). Thanks for your patience, and keep an eye out for the return of our festive recap!

Hi! Today I would like to talk about one of the most important architectural patterns in Angular.

The pattern itself is not related to Angular directly, but as Angular is component-driven framework, this pattern is one of the most essential for building modern Angular applications.

Container-Presentation pattern

It is believed that good components should be small, focused, independent, testable and most important - reusable.

Dataset Lightweight M:N

This data set demonstrates a basic M:N relationship between 2 tables
The dataset is targeted to show a slim implementation of M:N
It's no question that other implementations exist. But at significantly more storage consumption.

Creating your own commands or shortcut is one of the strongest features of ObjectScript
If you create your own Language Extensions to ObjectScript you mostly have to find the
proper %ZLANGC00 or %ZLANGV00 or %ZLANGF00 and add the extensions manually.

A few utilities do it already automatically (ZPM, ZME, ..)
This utility allows you to add your extensions also programmatically.

install and usage

Packed Pretty.xml installs routine ZPretty in any namespace.
calling $$Do^ZPretty(input,[filler],[newline]) returns a wrapped JSON string.
filler is the optional string for the indent, default = " "
newline is optional, default = $C(13,10)
input accepts: JSON_String, JSON_Stream, %DynamicAbstractObject

GitHub now supports ObjectScript

Hey developers,

I have great news for you. A few days ago, GitHub was updated with the latest version of linguist project, which is being used to recognize source code types in repositories. It helps to determine which programming language had been used in every file of the repository. Repository statistics section shows the results of this module work.

Also, you can search across all available GitHub repositories for any chosen language.

A request came from a customer to estimate how long it would take to encrypt a database with cvencrypt utility.

This question is a little bit like how long is a piece of string — it depends. But its an interesting question. The answer primarily depends on the performance of CPU and storage on the target platform the customer is using, so the answer is more about coming up with a simple methodology that can be used to benchmark the CPU and storage while running cvencrypt.

You can learn a lot from a first impression; we want to hear about yours.

As a continuation of our User Insights Interview program (see this post for more details), we’re expanding our scope to include Python developers, particularly those of you who are new to working with InterSystems technology. We’re looking to conduct one-on-one interviews to hear your honest thoughts about getting started: What made sense, what didn’t, and where we could improve.

Hello Community:

Do you want to know how to record yourself without looking like you're speaking from a cave? Are you one of those who say you ‘don't come off well on camera’?

Today I'm going to share with you some specific tips that I learned after several years of filming interviews for television and networks. I remind you that these are tips in case you are thinking of taking advantage of the Article Contest video bonus. However, they are tips that I'm sure you can use for presenting webinars, video calls and filming yourself in general.

Hi everyone!

The other day I was reflecting on the possibilities that FHIR brings us in the world of interoperability and electronic medical records and it gave me mixed feelings, let me explain, first a small introduction.

Introduction

As you well know, FHIR is based on parameterizing a series of concepts that it calls resources in JSON or XML format with the intention of covering the most common cases within the healthcare environment, relying on HTTP communications to cover CRUD and query functionalities.

There is an exciting new Organizational Dashboard feature available within CCR. This new functionality allows users to get a wholistic view of the CCR usage within their organization, allowing things like:

  • See warnings for when organizational usage patterns need to be adjusted
  • View total CCR volume
  • Explore the most active CCR Systems
  • Identify DB version of various Environments
  • Discover which Systems are no longer active and are candidates for Depreciation
  • List the CCR Client Tool update dates to see what is out of date (to be released shortly)
  • Examine number of active CCR users, their CCR activity volume and which of them are Perforce users
  • Correct ItemSets which are troubled across all Systems

Hi! As a developer who was forced to move from Mac to Windows (temporary) I found some things a bit confusing. In this article I would like to talk about some tweaks I made to make my experience smoother. I think it can help not only Mac users who need to use Windows environment (for ex. in VMs), but also can help some Windows users to make some things more convenient. Of course, all the points are subjective, the best setup is one that works for you.

All the tweaks are related to Windows 10 as I don’t have an access to Windows 11 at the moment.

Generating OFX [V1]

Just in case you never heard about OFX before
V1 was an attempt to create a dedicated SGML for banking and ignoring XML. Details.
It evolved to XML but not for M$ MONEY. Today we would use JSON for similar tasks.
