Standard error logs in IRIS / Caché / Ensemble are written global ^ERRORS. As this piece dates back some decades back to previous millennium its structure is far from the typical SQL storage structures.
The other day I was reflecting on the possibilities that FHIR brings us in the world of interoperability and electronic medical records and it gave me mixed feelings, let me explain, first a small introduction.
Introduction
As you well know, FHIR is based on parameterizing a series of concepts that it calls resources in JSON or XML format with the intention of covering the most common cases within the healthcare environment, relying on HTTP communications to cover CRUD and query functionalities.
Hi all, I have released the latest version of VSCode extension for ObjectScript already a month ago, and finally a time for the info about this new release.
So, what's new in the release:
What's new in this version
added export setting "objectscript.export.addCategory" if enabled uses the previous behaviour, adds category folder to export folder, disabled by default
added Server actions menu, by clicking on server info from status bar. Open Management portal, Class Reference and toggle connection.
Class Suggestion in ##class, Extends, As, CompileAfter, DependsOn, PropertyClass
$SYSTEM suggestion by Classes from %SYSTEM
Import and compile folder or file by context menu in File Explorer
Server Explorer, now possible to open any other namespace
Lately, you have probably heard of the new InterSystems Package Manager - ZPM. If you're familiar with it or with such package managers as NPM, Dep, pip/PyPI, etc. or just know what is it all about -- this question is for you! The question I want to arise is actually a system design question, or, in other words, "how should ZPM implement it".
Please read this when you have the time and keep an open mind. Also, you are welcome to tell me it is a terrible idea.
The main reason for this post
If you look at NPM, it has 1.3 million packages. Now ask yourself, is this an achievement or a nightmare? How many of those packages are no longer supported? How many of those packages break compatibility on version changes? How do you know which one to use?
The UK Developers Community Meetup is an informal meeting of developers, engineers, and devops to discuss successes, best practices and share experience with InterSystems Data Platforms!
I'm curious about the development processes of those of you using Angular.
The starting point is that, somewhere, there lives an Angular project full of (mostly) typescript files. Eventually, those files need to be built, and the resulting built files served up to a browser.
I think the forum experience is great as whole, but it could improve even more if we had somewhere to share our ideas. So that's why I'm creating a thread dedicated for that purpose. Maybe this way someone from InterSystems could catch something good?
Because of you are more experienced, pragmatic, and have a lot of knowledge and good know-how; please consider to read and answer some question, if you would like:
Why did you choose to become a software engineer / developer?
How and when did you start to generate a "flow state of mind" during your career?
At the moment I am trying to write a documentation file for a project and intend to use LaTeX for it. Has anyone already had experience with this? I haven't found syntax highlighting with the LaTeX packages I know yet. I found a request on Pygment but it was from 2016 and there was no reply on it since then.
Does anyone know a simple way for syntax highlighting COS in LaTeX? Thanks for your input!
Let's meet virtually at our first Community Roundtable! This will be a 45-minfriendly discussion on a given topic: VSCode vs Studio. Imagine that we just gathered together to share our thoughts, experiences, tips, and tricks. If you want to discuss specific questions within a given topic - please share them in the comments.

Finding errors in your code or examining unexpected behavior is the main purpose of Debugging I will try to refresh the traditional tools away from the helpers you have in Studio, VScode, Serenji, .... to the basics which have been there before your preferred EDI used it in the background.
Hello I am in My 2nd year of Engineering, and want to learn Python Programing Language, Please suggest to me the best books and best online resources that will help me to learn the python language.
As the year comes to a close, it's time to reminisce a little of what's gone on and what was the most important breakthrough or discovery of this year.
I work on a dashboard. I understand basic html. I like to draw two boxes in different colors on the background. There will be multiple small boxes inside or over the boxes in the background. I defined the large boxes as <div> and the smaller boxes also as <div> inside the larger <div>. So far so good.
How can I draw lines with arrows between the smaller boxes?
There are many projects which work on InterSystems products, and they are not always written only in ObjectScript. I think some of you working with different programming languages and already have some experience with other editors, and hope you already have a favourite online editor.
My current choice is VSCode, whereas you may already know I have added an extension to support ObjectScript.
There is an exciting new Organizational Dashboard feature available within CCR. This new functionality allows users to get a wholistic view of the CCR usage within their organization, allowing things like:
See warnings for when organizational usage patterns need to be adjusted
View total CCR volume
Explore the most active CCR Systems
Identify DB version of various Environments
Discover which Systems are no longer active and are candidates for Depreciation
List the CCR Client Tool update dates to see what is out of date (to be released shortly)
Examine number of active CCR users, their CCR activity volume and which of them are Perforce users
Correct ItemSets which are troubled across all Systems
Hello All, Can anyone tell me whats the best python IDE and code editors? I am a little bit confused between Eclipse + Pydev, Pycharm, Sublime Text, Visual Studio Code, Vim, GNU/Emacs, Atom/Atom-IDE, Cloud9.
Hi! As a developer who was forced to move from Mac to Windows (temporary) I found some things a bit confusing. In this article I would like to talk about some tweaks I made to make my experience smoother. I think it can help not only Mac users who need to use Windows environment (for ex. in VMs), but also can help some Windows users to make some things more convenient. Of course, all the points are subjective, the best setup is one that works for you.
All the tweaks are related to Windows 10 as I don’t have an access to Windows 11 at the moment.
If you define a Persistent Class / Table the class compiler generates for you an appropriate Storage definition. A different option is to define a SQL mapping for an already existing Global storage. This has been excellently explained already in a different series of articles. The Art of Mapping Globals to Classes 1 of 3
