MQTT Client in COS

Hi All,

I've created a sample implementation of the MQTT protocol, which is now available on GitHub.

The project demonstrates MQTT client capabilities and it's written in Caché Object Script.

Any comments, bug reports are welcome! Some more enhancements (like SSL / TLS support) are planned for the near future.

Interesting anecdote I want to share. Not 100% Caché related, but I hope it would be useful.

When CSP Gateway is configured on IIS, opening CSP Gateway Configuration page is prohibited by default -- as IIS blocks URLs with '/bin' in it.

In our documentation we advise to add <remove segment="bin" /> to applicationHost.config file.
That is correct.

Zen Mojo 1.1.2 released

I am happy to share the news that Zen Mojo 1.1.2 has been released. This release includes a critical fix for Firefox that we had to get out as fast as possible. No other changes are included to allow easy upgrades. We recommend upgrading to this release if you are running on Zen Mojo 1.1.1.

All upcoming Caché and Ensemble releases will ship with Zen Mojo 1.1.2.

You can download Zen Mojo kits from the WRC distribution page: https://wrc.intersystems.com/wrc/Distribution.csp

After upgrading an Information Exchange/HealthShare instance that has a registry namespace, you may notice that the Caché audit log gets filled with frequent login failures by the HS_Services user (check this by going to Management Portal > System Administration > Security > Auditing > View Audit Database). Clicking the “details” shows event data like:

Error message: Access Denied
CSP Application: /csp/healthshare/hsregistry
Authentication: Delegated

Task: Take advantage of the NoSQL paradigm without adding another tool
Approach: Provide sample use cases that are an excellent fit for InterSystems’ new document data model

Description: Designing applications always requires you to make assumptions about your data model. Come to this session to learn how you can effectively handle the cases where you have to rapidly evolve your model. We will also discuss other use cases that are an awesome fit for the flexible document data model.

Problem: I’ve observed the NoSQL landscape and like the direction, but I have no use-case that fits and I do not want to add yet another tool.

Solution: InterSystems now has support for a well integrated document data model that brings the NoSQL paradigm to the enterprise within your current stack.

Task: Build a composite application that bridges data silos
Approach: Give a real-world example of combining data from multiple sources to run a composite application

Most organizations need to bridge silos of data or combine separate applications. This session describes techniques for building composite applications and silos. The session also looks at a real application that does this. It uses workflow to assign cases to individuals for investigation and extracts information from multiple systems to provide the investigator with a complete context for the case at the scene of the incident.

Task: Enable users to perform analytics within an application and take actions based on those analytics
Approach: Provide examples of embedding DeepSee within applications

Analytics is more than just using data to provide insight. Analytics is about taking action on that insight. See examples of how you can embed DeepSee in your applications, allowing you to take action.

This article contains the tutorial document for a Global Summit academy session on Text Categorization and provides a helpful starting point to learn about Text Categorization and how iKnow can help you to implement Text Categorization models. This document was originally prepared by Kerry Kirkham and Max Vershinin and should work based on the sample data provided in the SAMPLES namespace.

openssl for Windows

Question:

Where can I find the openssl command line tool for Windows?

Answer:

The openssl command line utility comes with Unix, but not with Windows. It is used for working with security certificates.

The main site is

https://www.openssl.org/

There are no binaries on this site but in the Community section there is a link for binaries which leads to:
