Being interoperable is more and more important nowadays. InterSystems IRIS 2022.1 comes with a new messaging API to communicate with event streaming platforms like Kafka, AWS SQS/SNS, JMS and RabbitMQ.

This article shows how you can connect to Kafka and AWS SQS easily.
We start with a brief discussion of the basic concepts and terms of event streaming platforms.

I successfully installed IRIS Community edition on my new RYZEN7 desktop. However when I try to start IRIS I get an error event that states IRIS cannot start due to too many cores. (I have 15 on this CPU).

So how do I resolve this? I do have to install the image onto a single core? Or how many cores can this version run on?

Any comments/suggestions or hysterical laughter will be very much appreciated.

I wrote a ZAUTHENTICATE.mac a couple of months back, and found recently that it is creating coredumps on almost a nightly basis. I think I have figured out this problem to be not clearing out my MsgSearch after I am doing 2 of them within the code.

I am not sure if this is the correct place for this question, but I am struggling to setup TLS security for our IRIS Management Portal and etc. through Apache and the Web Gateway. I have a couple of questions when it comes to the setup.

• if I build a private key and certificate within Red Hat, does that certificate have to be on everyone's pc to connect to the Management Portal?
• Can I use a self signed Certificate?
• Can I use the existing CA on the server, or do I need to work with my Data Security team to get a Certificate?

I've always worked with typical web applications (a bunch of code files that sit in a server that connects to an RDS). Now our team is responsible for different IRIS for Health environments. We are currently working to set up the local dev environment and this is the current scenario:

* IRIS for Health local development server is running in a container

* Developers are using VSCode with the objectScript plugin

* GitHub as a version control system for the code and configuration.

How do you populate and update test/initial data for you classes?

CSV tables? Globals export? And how do you update test data?

Here's one way I found useful for small projects.

I can directly order over a MultiDimensional property, e.g.

set key=$order(obj.prop(key))

However I have a generic method that has to use the $property method, if I know the keys then I can just fetch a value with...

set value=$property(obj,"prop","key")

But if I don't know the keys then I am not aware of a solution to do this, e.g.

set key=$order($property(obj,"prop",key))

will not work.

I was wondering about the best way to initialize several variables, or several lists of variables.

Would it be better to write it like:

set (var1, var2, var3) = "value1"
set (var4, var5) = "value2"
set (var6,var7,var8) = "value3"

or

set var1="value1", var2="value1", var3="value1", var4="value2", var5="value2", var6="value3", var7="value3", var8="value3"

or

In the table/class HS_Registry.document there is a column/property named RepositoryUniqueId. There are about 14 unique values, which pretty much lines up with the number of our "Push" (Provide & Register) participants and thus unique document repositories. However, these values just look like OIDs. I've been searching for over an hour and I can't find anywhere that will provide me some context to these "Repository IDs".

Anyone have ideas or suggestions where I could find this info?

There is several classes that allow to create TCP/IP connections (eg: to connect to a service).

Example : %Net.FtpSession (port 21), %Net.HttpRequest (usually port 80 or 443)

AFAIK connection will stay open unless closed explicitly or if variable that hold the instance is garbage collected.

Is there a way to get a list of all active (open) TCP/IP connections IRIS is maintaining so far ?
