Hi All,

So after finally getting cache to install (by enabling root user and disabling the gatekeeper) it tells me that it has started with one alert... that is "Private web server has not started after 5 seconds." - urgh!

Obviously i need access to the management portal to continue setup, I've done lots of googling but i cant find anything on this, does anyone have any ideas?

Dynamic PoolSize (DPS) Experiment

Purpose:

Enhance Ensemble or IRIS production so it can dynamically allocate pool size for adapter-based components based on their utilization.

Sometimes, an unexpected traffic volume occurs, and default pool size allocated to production components may become a bottleneck. To avoid such situations, I created a demonstrator project some 2 years ago to see, whether it would be possible and feasible to modify production, so it allowed for dynamically modifying its components per their load.

The InterSystems IRIS supports like a charm the SOA principles with Contract First technique to model services aligned with the business, and create the services from the service contracts (Open API or WSDL).

One aspect of source code management is how to deal with the almost inevitable need to upgrade your Caché or Ensemble platform to a newer InterSystems release.

It's long been my experience that InterSystems does a very good job of maintaining backward compatibility. Code that works correctly on, say, 2012.1 is very likely to work correctly on, say, 2015.2 without any modification.

Hi

I'm using a class which extends %XML.Adaptor adaptor and I want to create an XML file with multiple namespaces, like the following:

<soap:Envelope xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:soap="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/">
</soap>

However, I don't see how to do this with the code I have. So far, I have

Problem with sftp

Hello, everyone,

I have the problem that when trying to connect to the SFTP server the error appears, the user and password are wrong. However, these are correctly stored under login data and I entered! SFTP in SSL Config. The connection works wonderfully with Filezilla. Anyone else has a tip for me?

Linked Tables and Dialects

Hi! I've been fiddling with linked tables to get data from other servers, and I encountered a problem that I'm curious about. Maybe I'm not using these tools as intended or there's more going on, so I'm asking here.

I'm running a query on linked table A, something simple like this:

select name from A where id = 5983658923646

And I get this error:

[SQLCODE: <-400>:<Fatal error occurred>]

[%msg: <>]

Publish / subscriber example in IRIS

Hi all!

In a project we needed to define topics to publish messages and register different subscribers which will receive those messages asynchronously. We also needed it to be as simple as possible and that we could use it on InterSystems IRIS directly.

As an experiment, I'm sharing this iris-pubsub open exchange example.

Infrastructure

This is built on top of InterSystems IRIS interoperability features, it needs a running production.

I'm pleased to see this in the documentation of the just-published 2017.1 Field Test of Ensemble:

"In certain circumstances, it is useful to create namespaces that are not enabled for Ensemble. In this release you can do this by clearing the Make this an Ensemble namespace checkbox when creating a new namespace. "
