Presenter: Alex MacLeod Task: Use Personal Community to build fully responsive and mobile-compatible portals Approach: Demonstrate the new release of Personal Community. Provide a behind-the-scenes look at the new application development framework used to build it.
The new release of Personal Community v11 is now fully responsive and mobile compatible. It uses a new framework for development. In this session, we will give a functional overview of Personal Community, demo the new release and give a look behind the scenes into the application development framework used.

Presenter: André Cerri Task: Use third-party visualization tools to present your DeepSee data Approach: Use DeepSee REST services to access DeepSee data from third-party tools
Come see examples of how you can use popular 3rd party data visualization tools to access your DeepSee data.

I am pleased to announce the next 2016.2 field test kit, 2016.2.0.609.0.
This is a relatively light update with only a few dozen changes from the previous field test, spread out across all areas of the product. Also, in a break from the recent past, this update doesn’t contain any new fixes to problems found in the field.
Please download the kit and give it a try; the latest field test of 2016.2 is available HERE. And, as always, we welcome your feedback.
You can set individual error pages for the following Web Gateway error messages/system responses:
server error
server busy
server unavailable
server timeout
connection closed
Settings are made on the Web Gateway Management screen ([Management Portal] > [System Administration] > [Configuration] > [Web Gateway Management] > [Configuration] > [Default Parameters]).
In the Error Page section of the Default Parameters menu, set the filename of the html page to display or the URL to redirect to when an error occurs.
Often solutions with InterSystems IRIS BI can turn into a quite big solution with dozens of pivots and dashboards.
With every new IRIS BI solution release we can add changes that could influence the behavior of existing pivots or dashboards so they stop working. For example if we change the dimension or measure name, forget deploying some cubes or subject areas, conduct refactoring via mass renaming of cubes and its elements etc some widgets could stop functioning.
According IDC, 80% of all data produced are NoSQL. See:
There are digital documents, scanned documents, online and offline texts, blob content into SQL, images, videos and audio. Imagine a Corporate Analytics initiative without all these data to analyze and support decisions?
In all the world, many projects are using techonologies to transform these NoSQL data into textual content, to allows analyze it. See:
Welcome back to %SYS! If you read the first article in this series, you must have already seen how to manage your users through the Security.Users class programmatically. Today, we will move on to Resources! Many of the classes in this package use a very similar set of methods.
What is Unstructured Data? Unstructured data refers to information lacking a predefined data model or organization. In contrast to structured data found in databases with clear structures (e.g., tables and fields), unstructured data lacks a fixed schema. This type of data includes text, images, videos, audio files, social media posts, emails, and more.
From IRIS 2021.2 is possible write Class Methods using the Python Language. I used this new feature to detect persons and objects into images, using ImageAI (https://github.com/OlafenwaMoses/ImageAI).
Since SELECT ... FOR UPDATE is implemented in many RDBMS as a method of explicit row lock acquisition, I think there are many cases where this function is used.
This syntax is not an error for InterSystems products, but it does not acquire row locks as expected.
This article will show you how to achieve equivalent functionality.
In this article, I'll show you how to run code at compile time with ObjectScript macros.
Here's a use case that recently led me to use this feature:
As part of a medical application developed for more than 20 years, we have a large number of parameters. Although we have procedures for documenting these settings, it can be helpful to have a quick view of which settings are actually used by the application code.
Hi community, I used website-analyzer - an app that uses InterSystems NLP and Crawler4J to extract all website content and do NLP on it. I limited to 200 pages and discovered this:

Presenter: Joe Gallant Task: Create a good analytical data model Approach: Discuss what makes a good analytical data model. Provide examples of using DeepSee’s APIs for building custom dimensions, measures, and KPIs
Data models are the foundation of effective analytics. This session focuses on the factors that make good analytics data models.

Create Database, Namespace, REST Applications using Portal Management is an easy task. You just need a few clicks or maybe more clicks than you expect.
But, what if you traded all those clicks for a simple command-line ?!
Visual Studio Code (VS Code) is a free source code editor made by Microsoft for Windows, Linux, and macOS. It provides built-in support for JavaScript, TypeScript, and Node.js. You can add extensions to provide support for numerous other languages including ObjectScript.
The InterSystems extensions enable you to use VS Code to connect to an InterSystems IRIS server and develop code in ObjectScript. The Visual Studio Code Documentation is an excellent resource on VS Code, so it is a good idea to be familiar with it.
In a conference call earlier this week, a customer described how they built an iKnow domain with clinical notes and now wanted to filter the contents of that domain based on the patient's diagnosis codes.
Wanted to have a FHIR Story in the back pocket to share with the participants on a dead simple series of calls against the FHIR Server for anybody in the mindset of emitting metrics from a device to FHIR.
This is the related article to the package in Java Contest.
I decided to present a CRUD++ Global Editor based on IRIS Native API for Java. ++ because it’s a little bit more than just Create, Read, Update, Delete Visualization of a global is always important to review results immediately.
A benchmark of a real-world application, which loads data into a data warehouse for subsequent analysis, was performed. To conduct the benchmark, one module of the Oracle-based application was replicated in Caché ObjectScript. Only about 40 person-hours of work was required to duplicate the functionality of the original module in Caché.
When you need to know the impact on a change in your project, it is very useful to see class dependencies in a network diagram. The IRIS Connections project allows you to see it.
HL7 V2 message routing solutions often have hundreds of business services, processes and operations. Inevitably things will go wrong and you have to monitor the production to be able to react quickly and resolve any problems before they can become serious issues.
Ensemble includes some powerful alerting capabilities that can help, but if you aren't careful you will be inundated with alerts and your inbox more or less becomes a copy of the event log defeating the object of the exercise.
In the next few weeks, my coworkers are planning to start using VSCode to code with InterSystems' products. Among the many advantages of that, I would emphasize being able to connect with other technologies, such as GitHub, with ease. Besides, VSCode also offers an extensive extensions store, where you can find many free add-ons that make coding faster and more efficient. Last but not least, to conquer the heart of every developer, it is open source.
