Recently, the question came up while discussing the access to the data stored in IRIS from different languages with my students if it was possible to initiate the connection and get data from Cloud solution (InterSystems IRIS CloudSQL) from Microsoft Excel, not the other way around. Considering the many varied ways one can get data in Excel (import data from external sources, connecting to databases using ODBC drivers, using power queries and web queries etc.) the obvious choice was to try ODBC driver. The only task left was to try to connect to the database in the cloud using the ODBC driver.

Migrating data to another system takes two steps.

1. Migrating class definitions

To migrate the class definition to another system, export it to a file in XML format or UDL format (extension .cls).

The export procedure in Studio is as follows.

Tools > Export

> Select multiple classes you want to migrate with the [Add] button

> Check [Export to local file]

I checked out a Git-Branch and want to Import all Objectscript-Objects to my localhost.

While using Import without Compilation I receive a lot of errors.

request to http://127.0.0.1:57772/api/atelier/v3/TSTCBW/doc/MusLT01LCOD.int?ignoreC... failed, reason: connect ECONNREFUSED 127.0.0.1:57772

While using Import and Compile I receive much more of this errors.

Is there a setting, that I have to key in?

I have a routing rule that calls some utility classmethods, but for some reason the compiled version insists on linking to a utility function in a different package.

The call to 'SendToEaling(HL7)' in isn't compiling to a call to the LNWTIEPackage as expected:

##class(LNWTIEPackage.RoutingRules.Utility).SendToEaling((pContext.HL7))

but is instead becoming a call to the LNWDeploy package

I want to monitor some variables in my program.

So I do this "zb *varname", however, i don't really want to get break went the program touch "varname" every time.

I only want to get break when certain conditions are meet. For example, $d(varname(1,2,3)) > 0, then break.

Is there any way to achieve this?

It is my understanding that when a routine accesses a global it is temporarily stored in global memory. While the global is within global memory, any other routine would be able to readily access the global from memory and not from disk so long as the same node is being utilized.

So, currently in the habit of keeping all users forever, up to over 5000... ? is what if we decided to start deleting old users who have been gone from the company, how would it affect any account level information? notes, payments etc.... Is there any documentation anywhere that would answer this or describe this process or maybe best practices??

Why do I upload files faster with webservice than with csp?

The soap protocol used by webservice has to go through http protocol. csp directly handles http, no xml encapsulation, so it should be faster.

After testing, for a 1M file, csp is about 0.1s slower. After the gateway connection to 1972, there is a stall of about 0.1s, not sure why.

Is there any way to make the file upload speed of csp faster than webservice?

webservice用的soap协议也得走http呀。csp直接处理http，少了xml的封装，按理来说应该更快。

经测试，1M的文件，csp慢了0.1s左右。在网关连接到1972后，有0.1s左右的停滞，不知道原因。
