I'm developing a mini-framework to implement annotations in Cache. I want to support two kind of annotations: metadata and method decorators. I've got stuck trying to implement the second one.
Metadata
With metadata annotations I can add metadata to any kind of target. A target can be a method/classmethod, parameter, property and class.
If I were trying to access an index of a global variable, what time complexity would this operation have? My understanding of languages like Java/C++ is that arrays are stored as blocks of memory so that x[15] would have a lookup time complexity of O(1) because it just goes to (address of the array + 15) and retrieves the value stored there.
How does this work in Cache where the index of a variable isn't necessarily an integer value? If I were to have a variable like the following:
For my recent tutorial, I used %Query Wizard of Studio.
Could any of the VSCode experts please show me how to generate
Query Statement with input parameters, CONTAINID , ROWSPEC and the required class methods - <queryname>Execute() - <queryname>Fetch() - <queryname>Close()
I am trying to explore some new possibilities outside of the normal day to day HL7 interfacing we do. I have only done 1 other Web Service interface but it was using a SOAP proxy wizard. Now I am tasked with trying to make a call to an external API
I encountered the following errors while installing the ZPM module on version 2025.1. The ZPM install command failed on the Community Edition of IRIS for Health.
I was wondering, what is your favourite public cloud provider?
What is your level of engagement with the cloud provider? Are you testing their infrastructure? In which case I'd expect you being progressing a parallel test with at least a second provider ;-) Or, are you already running a production environment?

OK, so, let me be the first one to share my experience with one specific cloud provider.
I'm in the process of trying to convert my team to a Git-based workflow for source code version management (we use Ensemble and HealthShare, but build a lot of customizations on top). We are having a hard time working with Atelier in this regard for a few reasons:
We have a big problem with spanish accent and special characters using Data Transformation (HL7 Messages).
We have some DT to transform HL7 messages to other type (OUL^R22 To OML^O21) so it copys the PID segment to the new one, but if in the PatienName field has any special character, the transformation stops and it not continues with the transformation.
To prepare a migration to IRIS I use Docker images. The (aged) application is built around Caché Terminal And on Windows, IRIS uses the same ctelnetd.exe as Caché.
In my Docker installation, Telnet Settings are just grayed out in SMP. and my Terminal can't 'connect. Port mapping is OK and verified with TCP
Working from the console in Docker with the whole set of ESC and screen formatting is not acceptable. We tried WebTerminal but there is just no Partition behind as in Terminal.
I want to fetch value from a global without being limited by the namespace. Is there any way of referencing the values from a global to a different namespace?
Found a strange documentation block about Python bindings in Chapter 3.6 of the Caché manipulation functions with time and date. It looks like this text accidentally copied one to one of the Perl binging documentation.
Can anyone please provide me with a guide I can follow to create an entry in Cache's SSL/TLS configuration that would allow me to "speak" to an website via the Post method using SSL.
I need to simulate functionality that is provided by my browser but from with Cache.
The topics I have are:
1. From where do I source the certificate that will be used for this process?
2. What processing must I do on it to make it acceptable for Cache's SSL/TLS
3. What settings are required when filling the the form
Hi community? Do you have tips for IRIS certification? Resources to study, types of questions more common, anything to help me in my study path. Thanks.
I need to generate a DDL file from a .cls class that already exists, the idea is to create a mirror table in SQL. Is it possible to do this export or do I need to do the CREATE TABLE manually?
Please excuse my ignorance. I am trying to identify what areas would be best to review in the System Dashboard (for Cache 2010.2) for performance issues with the database. It seems to be running slower than usual, but I am trying to find out the best way to go about identifying what the issue is.
The following are captures from the System Dashboard.
