InterSystems announces its fourth preview, as part of the developer preview program for the 2024.1 release. This release will include InterSystems IRIS®, InterSystems IRIS® for HealthTM, and HealthShare® Health Connect.
This is the ninth in a series of releases that are part of the developer preview program for 2022.2 Future preview releases are expected to be updated biweekly and we will add features as they are ready. We often get questions about recent and upcoming changes to the list of platforms and frameworks that are supported by the InterSystems IRIS data platform. This update aims to share recent changes as well as our best current knowledge on upcoming changes, but predicting the future is tricky business and this shouldn’t be considered a committed roadmap.
Preview releases are now available for the first version (v1.0) of InterSystems System Alerting and Monitoring (InterSystems SAM for short).
InterSystems SAM v1.0 provides a modern monitoring solution for InterSystems IRIS-based products. It allows high-level views of clusters and single-node drilled down metrics-visualization together with alerts notifications. This first version provides visualization for more than one hundred InterSystems IRIS kernel metrics, and users can extend the default-supplied Grafana template to their liking.
V1.0 is meant to be a simple and intuitive baseline. Please help us make it great by trying it and sending us feedback!
SAM can display information from InterSystems-based instance starting with version 2019.4
SAM is only available in container format. You will need the SAM Manager container plus a small set of additional open-source components (Prometheus and Grafana) that are added automatically by the composition file.
SAM components and the SAM Manager Community Edition are available from
Externally at the SAM components Github repo & the SAM Manager on Docker Hub if you want to download it before the docker-compose runs (this last link might not be available for few hours but the container is pullable)
If you are traveling or prefer a voice-based Q&A description on what SAM is, here is a podcast we have prepared for you:

At InterSystems, we believe in the responsible disclosure of recently discovered security vulnerabilities. We provide timely information to our customers, while keeping it out of the hands of people that may misuse it. We also understand each customer has different requirements related to the resolution of security issues.
Starting with 2017.1, InterSystems has moved macOS from being a server platform to a development platform. 2017.1 will only support macOS 10.12 and will no longer be available as dmg kits.
Verification of macOS 10.12 has not been completed at this time and Field Test kits for this platform are not yet available.
InterSystems has identified an issue with product distributions containing Certificate Authority certificates that expire at the end of 2020. This issue does not affect system operation or system security in any way, although it does generate alerts about expiring certificates in the cconsole.log or messages.log files.

Occasionally. we get questions about using OpenEHR with InterSystems. Typically, these discussions focus on why and how an organization wants to implement OpenEHR in building applications. Here’s a brief guide:
InterSystems has corrected a defect that can cause a build-up of orphaned processes consuming system resources. In extreme cases, this can cause a system to become unresponsive.
As previously announced at Global Summit 2022, InterSystems will discontinue shipping or installing an Apache-based web server (often referred to as the private web server or PWS); this change is currently planned for InterSystems IRIS 2023.2.
I recently realized it's been far too long since I talked about the latest features in the InterSystems ObjectScript Extension for Visual Studio Code.
I'm pleased to announce version 2.12.1 of the ObjectScript extension, containing a number of enhancements that make a developer's life easier. Some highlights are described below, including the #1 requested feature from Global Summit -- XML import!
GA releases are now available for the 2020.4 version of InterSystems IRIS, InterSystems IRIS for Health and InterSystems IRIS Studio.
