Recently I needed a classmethod that returns annotation value based on a name of a activity.

As doing it at runtime seemed inefficient, I wrote compile-time utility that iterates over all business process activities and generates relevant code.

This code could be used in a variety of situations when you need to iterate over business process activities, just add it as a secondary superclass to your BPL processes.

SQL Developer Experience survey

Hi all,

In order to prioritize functional requirements for evolving our SQL developer experience, we have prepared a short survey to better understand how you’re currently using and, in an ideal world, would like most to interact with our SQL platform.

In Episode 7 of Data Points, product manager @Carmen Logue joined the pod to tell us all about InterSystems Reports — the new reporting feature of InterSystems IRIS! Take a listen to hear about its capabilities, use cases, and how it fits into the existing set of analytics technologies.

Under the previous python binding method (Cache) it was possible to pass in parameters, execute a class query, and fetch the result sets. I have been unable to find a way to do this via PYODBC or the Native API (perhaps I am just missing something).

My work around is to create a SQLquery string and execute it through a cursor. I would much prefer to simply execute the debugged and more secure class queries that already exist and and have been precompiled.

Any pointers would be greatly appreciated

Thanks,

Sinon

Hi All,

I am a beginner in cache. I need to extract data from multiple tables (4-5) tables based on an SQL query . The data is more than 9 lakhs of records (i checked using count). The total number columns is 16.

When I am running this SQL query through management portal, I am getting time out exception. Could you please suggest how I can retrieve those records. Which way will be good (Dynamic query using %SQL.Statement or Embedded SQL (not known to me) or Writing to a global will help or not).

We are looking at what we need to do to migrate from our current usage of Zen reports to InterSystems Reports. One of the hurdles for us is figuring out ways to interact with InterSystems reports programmatically from ObjectScript routines. There is a Java API for it, but it is possible to generate a report from InterSystems reports to a stream object in ObjectScript without diving into Java by using a %Net.HttpRequest. Here is a code example, followed by an explanation:

LangChain Ghost in the PDF

Posing a question to consider during the current Grand Prix competition.

I wanted to share an observation about using PDFs with LangChain.

When loading the text out of a PDF, I noticed there was an artifact of gaps within some of the words extracted.

Python Object Not Found

I'm in a very early phase of an project where some of the methods should be written in python. Occasionally, projects also have byproducts, I call them utility methods, because some of the methods the project uses can also be used in other applications too. I tend to put such methods in percent classes, so they can be used everywhere, independent of the namespace, where an application runs. I try to do the same in my current project too, merely with python it doesn't works! Why?

We recently went through an Audit of our Security Policies and Procedures when it comes to IRIS. As a result of that Audit, we need to make adjustments to the way that Security is setup within IRIS. I have already done my changes on our TEST and DEVELOPMENT environments, but now I am trying to plan out how do we make these changes in Production.

These changes include moving away from the PWS, setting up Apache/Web Gateway, moving to LDAP instead of using Delegated Authentication, updating Web Applications, updating Resources, updating Services, etc...
