JWT (JSON Web Token) is an open standard (RFC 7519) that offers a lightweight, compact, and self-contained method for securely transmitting information between two parties. It is commonly used in web applications for authentication, authorization, and information exchange.
A JWT is typically composed of three parts:
1. JOSE (JSON Object Signing and Encryption) Header 2. Payload 3. Signature
For some build scripting with the InterSystems Package Manager, I'd like to first uninstall a package with `zpm "uninstall"` and then load it from disk using `zpm "load"`. That way anything that got deleted from the source will also be deleted from IRIS.
The problem is that `zpm "uninstall"` takes in a module name and I only have the directory path to the package source. Is there a way to get the module name for an installed IPM module given the source path? It's okay to assume that it has previously been installed from that same directory with `zpm "load"`.
As you may know, this year's Spanish Technical Articles contest will be in May. I am going to make a series of articles to support you in the creation of your articles, giving tips and tricks. Perhaps they will be useful for the contest you have active in this community as well.
As you may know, one of the bonuses or extra points you can receive is to add a video tutorial to your article. You may not even know how to approach this issue, no problem! I'm here to give you some tips that you can apply not only to the creation of these videos, but to any other.
I have an Iris Intersystems instance that works with Apache server on Windows 11 machine. Are there any clear and simple instruction or documentation that explain how to migrate from Apache server to Nginx server?
It is very common in the daily life of IRIS or Health Connect users that it is necessary to install new instances or update the ones they already have and in many cases it is not these same users who carry out the installation, but rather systems personnel who often do not take into account the particularities of the assignment of permissions necessary for the installation.
FHIR repositories, applications and servers typically serve clinical data in small quantities, whether to return data about a patient, their medications, vaccines, allergies, among other information. However, it is common for a large amount of data in FHIR/JSON format to be requested to be used to load into Data Lakes, identifying study cohorts, population health, or transferring data from one EHR to another. To meet these business scenarios that require large extractions and loads of data, it is recommended to use the FHIR Bulk Data Access feature provided by HL7 institution.
We are trying to create a JWT in order to get oauth2 token from login.microsoftonline.com and then use that token to get key/secret from an Azure Key Vault.
It seemed like it would be quite straightforward by using the Create method of class %Net.JSON.JWT
I'm new to InterSystems, just wanted to check if we can configure the Visual Studio code to use it as Studio for Intersystems development. I tried following the instructions in few posts but nothing worked. Please guide me to setup this
Urgently Looking for the following InterSystems Technology Skills: (Must have Strong InterSystems (ISC) technology background and some Google cloud skills experience along with InterSystems IRIS).
Just curious what the process is for debugging either a .py file that is uploaded to a specific namespace/location or a python classmethod defined in a .cls file.
My method can be run via the "Debug" breadcrumb but it doesnt hit breakpoints it just runs without a debugger. Also objectscript methods debug correctly
Using Flask, REST API, and IAM with InterSystems IRIS
Part 3 – IAM
InterSystems API Manager (IAM) is a component that allows you to monitor, control, and manage traffic from HTTP-based APIs. It also acts as an API gateway between InterSystems IRIS applications and servers.

Using Flask, REST API, and IAM with InterSystems IRIS
Part 2 – Flask App
Flask is a web development microframework written in Python. It is known for being simple, flexible, and enabling rapid application development.
Installing Flask is very simple. Once you have python installed correctly on your operating system, we need to install the flask library with the pip command. For REST API consumption, it is advisable to use the requests library. The following link provides a guide to installing flask: https://flask.palletsprojects.com/en/stable/installation/
Hey everyone, Might be a stupid question, but i was trying to set the ContentLength of the %response object in my website. In different places (like the onPreHttp / onPostHttp etc) but none seems to work.
The reason behind it is to send a more accurate representation of the actual data I send, instead of having the overhead of the broker that adds more characters , I want the exact length of the response accounting only for the data that I actually returned.
As I have been working with IRIS (nee Caché) for some time now, I decided to take a look at how I manage things like functions and scripts that may not belong to a single namespace or environment, but should still have a home.
Using SQL Gateway with Python, Vector Search, and Interoperability in InterSystems Iris
Part 2 – Python and Vector Search
Since we have access to the data from our external table, we can use everything that Iris has to offer with this data. Let's, for example, read the data from our external table and generate a polynomial regression with it.
Let's now consume the data from the external database to calculate a polynomial regression. To do this, we will use a python code to run a SQL that will read our MySQL table and turn it into a pandas dataframe:
In this article we will look at the use of SQL Gateway in Iris. SQL Gateway allows Iris to have access to tables from other (external) database via ODBC or JDBC. We can access Tables or Views from various databases, such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MySQL and others.

First, let me wish the developer community a Happy New Year! We hope to bring you many good things this year, and today I'd like to introduce the latest version of the Intersystems Language Server extension to VS Code. Most Language Server improvements are experienced via the ObjectScript extension UI, so you many not be aware of the many improvements in areas like Intellisense and hover overs that were released throughout 2024.
I have an operation using $ZF this operation ran and did not error but the job has been active and it can not be stopped I have tried stopping it from the front end and through the terminal using ##class(ENSLIB.Job).%New() Stop method. Now my production will not update even if I add a new item to the production I cannot update the item is there a way to force stop this job.
