Preview releases are now available for the 2020.4 version of InterSystems IRIS, IRIS for Health and IRIS Studio. As this is a preview release, we are eager to learn from your experiences with this new release ahead of its General Availability next month.
It's been 6 months since InterSystems released Atelier 1.0 and we continue to roll out enhancements and new features through the beta channel (please see the Atelier Download page for details). In the meantime, we have received a lot of messages from the Developer Community with ideas for further improvements. Based on your feedback, we created a roadmap for Atelier 1.1 so you can conveniently track when specific features are going to be integrated.
InterSystems IRIS is a complete, unified data platform that makes it faster and easier to build real-time, data-rich applications. It mirrors our design philosophy that software should be interoperable, reliable, intuitive, and scalable.
Full-Stack JavaScript development allows you to create state-of-the-art applications with Caché. With any (web) app you build nowadays, one has to make a lot of architectural decisions and you want to make the right ones. With the Node.js connector available for Caché, you can create a very powerful server side application server, allowing you to use the latest JavaScript technology and frameworks client- and server-side.
With all these new technologies, the most important is to integrate them in the most efficient way and to create a very productive development experience. This article willl get you started step-by-step with Node.js technology.
Most notably, take advantage of enhancements to compiling with InterSystems IRIS. You can find more information about the additions in the release notes here.
This announcement is to inform clients about changes in our 2016.2 and 2016.3 field test programs.
The 2016.2 field test has been extended in order to address important syntax changes related to JSON. Simply stated, the JSON syntax introduced in 2016.1 had several inconsistencies that we did not want to perpetuate. This is now addressed and the updated 2016.2 field test will be published today. Concurrently, the syntax changes and guidance for developers will be posted on the Developer Community shortly. JSON is critically important to our Caché roadmap.
Those of you who keep an eye on developments in the mainstream of IT will be aware that a major upheaval has been occurring over the last 5 or so years, in which JavaScript has exploded in popularity and importance. Largely as a result of its server-side incarnation - Node.js - it has broken free of just being the scripting language that you use in web browser, to becoming the world's most popular language and enterprise technology of choice.
I’m pleased to announce the 0.9 release of the ObjectScript extension for Visual Studio Code. Earlier this year I announced that InterSystems would be joining the community in evolving this already popular tool. Since then, we have been hard at work solidifying the code base and building a slew of new features.
I'm pleased to announce that we deployed a new release of Developer Community.
With this release we introduce:
1. New post type is introduced: Announcement
Choose Announcement as a post type if you want to say about a new product or feature release, about some new services in your company, if it is event announcement or there is a new job position open in your company.
I am pleased to announce the availability of InterSystems Container Registry. This provides a new distribution channel for customers to access container-based releases and previews. All Community Edition images are available in a public repository with no login required. All full released images (IRIS, IRIS for Health, Health Connect, System Alerting and Monitoring, InterSystems Cloud Manager) and utility images (such as arbiter, Web Gateway, and PasswordHash) require a login token, generated from your WRC account credentials.
The Atelier 1.2 stable release update site (https://atelier.artifactoryonline.com/atelier/updates/stable/1.2/) has been updated to 1.2.119. This build contains all of the new features and enhancements the 1.2.118 beta build has as well as a number of bug fixes. Additionally, we have documented a list of the top time-saving keyboard shortcuts to help you become more productive. Give Atelier 1.2 a try and let us know what you think! Some of the key highlights include:
Often when we develop some library, tool, package, whatever on InterSystems ObjectScript we have a question, how we deploy this package on the target machine?
Also, we often expect that some other libraries already installed, so our package depends on them, and often on some particular version of it.
When you code on javascript, python, etc the role of packages deployment with dependency management takes package manager.
After attending the Intersystems DACH conference in Germany at the end of last November and taking part in a few workshops about containers and microservices I took the plunge and installed Docker on home Windows PC, downloaded IRIS 2018.2 preview and got that up and running. Good stuff and I gave myself a pad on the shoulder at that point.
Fast transfer. Pass globals, classes and tables from InterSystems IRIS to Python with ease and speed (10x faster than old QueryExecute). Documentation.
I am pleased to announce the field test of Caché and Ensemble 2016.3 - with many new improvements.
The product team at InterSystems looks forward to your participation in the field test and feedback over the coming months.
Some of the more signification changes in 2016.3 are new RESTful APIs for iKnow and broader APIs for programmatic control of multiple servers (enterprise manager). As always, there are a host of scalability and performance improvements, including improvements to the core database and SQL. And hundreds of smaller improvements and corrections.
With this release we've done a few things with subscriptions
1. Exposed personalization settings so you can control how and when you receive the email subscription notifications. See the image below
2. The ability to selectively subscribe to email notification for content by Tag. At the top of the "Browse by Tag" page there is a new link to Subscribe with Email.
I am happy to announce that InterSystems API Manager is now generally available. InterSystems API Manager (IAM) is a new feature of the InterSystems IRIS Data Platform™, enabling you to monitor, control and govern traffic to and from web-based APIs within your IT infrastructure.
In this release we turned off the digest mode for all the members (until it would be fixed) and fixed the Update notifications: now this settings can be found in the same place for all the members: Subscriptions/Content types tab.
Meet in this small release the new very valuable feature: marking answers as "true" answers.
If you are an author of the question now you can choose the right answer if there are more than one and mark it with the green checkbox. Like it is shown here:
With this release I hope you will turn on back the email notifications because every new notification today in the beginning of itself will tell first, why did you get it describing the exact reason you got this particular notification. And if you don't want this type of notification to be delivered anymore click unsubscribe link in the notification and it will lead to the settings of this very type to alter.
offers the latest features and bug fixes. It now updates your installation of Atelier to build 1.1.310 for Mac, Windows, Red Hat, SUSE and Ubuntu. Here’s an account of what’s recently been improved:
