#InterSystems IRIS

Does the Version of the Web Gateway have to match the version of IRIS that is currently running? Or are they independent of each other since they are different components? I am looking to install the Web Gateway (non-PWS) as we move forward with securing our Management Portal and VS Code connections using TLS.

IRIS and Caché / Ensemble offer the possibility to add Languages Extension as SystemFunctions, SystemVariables, SystemCommands

The related documentation tells you where to add the system-wide extension. Parameter passing is not covered explicitly.

Our application needs to create system users from a request form.

To use Security classes, it is necessary to have rights to use the %SYS namespace, which is not the case for users who validate requests.

It is not desirable for these users to have this role permanently, so I proceeded as follows:

I created a facade class for the Security.Users, Security.Roles, Security.Resources classes which allows me to log in with an authorized user on the NS %SYS

In Cache 2018, we were using a macro in a query that looked like this:

select $$GetExtraSQL^GetExtra('B',bddtl.odnumb,bddtl.odsnum,bddtl.oddsc1) as "Description", * from sqluser.bddtl

We could save that query as a view, and there was no problem with it.

In IRIS, if we put that query into SQL in the management portal, it still works, but if we save that query as a view, when we try to run a query on that view, we get a big error message:

The company I work for has one software application that uses an IRIS database, with almost all the others using SQL databases.

On a SQL database, we can create local tables and create views. These are invaluable when it comes to reporting, and everyone here is quite up to speed with using SSMS to create functions, stored procedures, etc.

Suppose I have an instance of a persistent class:

Set person = ##class(dc.Sample.Person).%OpenId(1)

Class is an ancestor of %JSON.Adapter.

How can I convert it to dynamic object with the properties that person.%JSONExport() provides?

I have updated some legacy VB/ASP.NET code and changed the references of InterSystems.Data.CacheClient to InterSystems.Data.IRISClient. I am struggling with the code as I am not a .NET expert and there is little or no documentation.

With $Property is possible to dynamically get and set values on property of an instanced class and with $ClassMethod is possible to invoke methods from a class.
I would like to know: Is there an elegant way to do Write and Set dynamically on variables without using Xecute?

Have a Zen report with a huge query that we are trying to break down and be more efficient.

Looks like Zen only wants to take a result set class as the data (or XML, but writing to a file to generate these reports is probably even more overhead).

Is there a way I can move through a result set object, delete rows I don't want based on some objectscript commands and the pass that to the report?

Or can I pass a dynamic object?
