How is your code health

As a developer, usually I'm concerned about how my code health is, and how the other coders code can affect to my own work. And I'm quite sure most of us feel very similar.

In our company we use a Static Code Analysis tool to analyze code for different languages to ensure we are writing high quality and easily maintainable code by following a few best practices in terms of code structure and content. And the question was: why should be different for Caché ObjectScript language?

I am glad to say that VSCode-ObjectScript reached 4000 installs. Thanks to all of you who use it in their work.

VSCode-ObjectScript is an extension for VSCode which allows you to develop InterSystems based applications on ObjectScript using the modern code editor developed by Microsoft. Choice #1 editor amongst all developers worldwide by Stackoverflow survey 2019.

Zen Reports has offered multiple choices for direct printing including use of Adobe Reader or Foxit reader. Recent changes in Windows 10 and in the readers themselves have made it no longer possible to invoke these readers from background processes in Windows 10 and all future versions. Because of this Zen Reports will no longer support printing with these tools on Windows 10.

Windows 10 support was added for 2015.1 and 2015.2. On Windows 10, the only option for direct printing with Zen Reports will be Qoppa JPDFPrint.

Announcing Deltanji 6.0, the latest version of the well-respected George James Software source control product formerly known as VC/m.

Deltanji comes in four editions, including Solo which is quick to install on Caché or Ensemble (2009.1 or later), easy to get started with, and perpetually free.

Deltanji runs within the environment whose code it is managing, integrating closely with Studio and Portal, and storing code versions in a CACHE.DAT database.

InterSystems has identified an issue with product distributions containing Certificate Authority certificates that expire at the end of 2020. This issue does not affect system operation or system security in any way, although it does generate alerts about expiring certificates in the cconsole.log or messages.log files.

Caché Monitor is a database\sql tool primarily for InterSystems Caché but can also connect to MS SQL Server, MS Access and more databases. Within Caché Monitors Server Navigator you see all available Namespaces on your Caché Servers. No need to know the name of the Namespace, no need to configure many many JDBC Connections by hand. Caché and Ensemble 2016.1

Announcing gj :: locate. A simple extension for VS Code that will help you get to the source of your errors.

In VS Code, using either the Serenji extension or the basic InterSystems objectscript extension, this small add-on will open the appropriate class or routine and position you at the exact line where an error occurred.

No more tedious counting of lines to find <UNDEFINED>zCredit+206^Ledger.Invoice.1. Instead, with gj :: locate you can get there with just a couple of clicks.
