I am trying to use Entity Framework with Visual Studio 2017. After following the Intersystems documentation ("Using the Caché Entity Framework Provider") I still cannot see the data source in Server Explorer. Any ideas why?

I'm pleased to announce version 2.6.0 of the VS Code ObjectScript extension, containing a number of enhancements that make a developer's life easier. Some highlights are described below. As always, find the full list of modifications in the CHANGELOG, including many bug and vulnerability fixes.
I have been working on a project in our Dev environment which resulted in processing a few (million) HL7 messages, and I thought it would be a good idea to purge the namespace in a controlled way. My concern was when it hit the day where the scheduled task would purge 'the day of a million messages', it would fill the Journal Drive quite dramatically and would happen overnight resulting in triggering a response from the poor person on out of hours support.
Last week saw the launch of the InterSystems IRIS Data Platform in sunny California.
For the engaging eXPerience Labs (XP-Labs) training sessions, my first customer and favourite department (Learning Services), was working hard assisting and supporting us all behind the scene.
Developing an idea with RuleEngine in XData, we could even refuse from editing full class and edit only valuable xml. Sometime ago I have already written an article(in russian) about such possibility, even more, in that article I wrote about compilable JavaScript to Caché.
I'm trying to read the response to a long (indefinitely) running HTTP response with Transfer-Encoding: chunked. Ideally I'd be able to read the individual chunks from the response and do something with them as they arrive rather than needing to wait for the response to finish (because it never will) - ultimately I'm thinking to wrap these back up over a WebSocket connection which seems cleaner from an API perspective.
Where do I download the package cache-jdbc-2.0.0.jar. I'm trying to develop a java app that connects to a Cache Database to grab information? Thank you.
I am using a standard EnsLib.HL7.Operation.FileOperation to create files based on HL7 messages but I just realised that lines in the output file only contain CR (Character Return) but no LF (Line Feed). It is really important to have both as another system picking those files will fail otherwise...
Recently I have been tinkering with VSCode and ObjectScript extension to connect to my dockerized IRIS instance. I have configured the instance to use Apache as a Web Gateway as per instructions and it has been working well. Currently I'm using a self-signed certificate for the SSL part of the connection. The browser nags about insecure certs when connecting to Management Portal but that's expected.
However when I try to connect to the instance with VSCode it simply fails with the following error message
As previously announced at Global Summit 2022, InterSystems will discontinue shipping or installing an Apache-based web server (often referred to as the private web server or PWS); this change is currently planned for InterSystems IRIS 2023.2.
Some changes in IRIS configuration require a restart of IRIS. This is no big issue as long as I have access to the server command line with sufficient privileges.
In a container, this is not always given. Stopping IRIS from the terminal/session prompt is no problem. But the restart after is.
Note1: container start-stop is no option as it might be removed by option --rm in docker run Note2: the target is linux (manly in docker). Windows is excluded
I am using the event logger from CSP gateway with level "v9r" enabled, in order to dump the raw content of some HTTP requests.
I would like to decode the body response data, when it's in binary form. AFAIK the event logger will convert characters outside the 32-127 range (EBCDIC) to the "\xff" notation (where ff is a hexadecimal value). Here is an example :
I'm building a browser only code editor for IRIS. Here is a video demonstration. It's still very much "work in progress", more updates to come. I will also add it to ZPM soon.
