Has anybody tried to extend the Menu on Management Portal? I like to add a new page or a dashboard that will be created soon to the Management Portal and allow others to use it also. I understand there are risks that I could lose things during an upgrade. I am okay with that. Does InterSystems support such an effort?
Their products can be just as useful as they are complex.
Yet, our pride sometimes prevents us from admitting that we might not understand some concepts or products that InterSystems offers for us.
Today we are beginning a series of articles explaining how some of the intricate InterSystems products work, obviously simply and clearly.
In this essay, I will clarify what Machine Learning is and how to take advantage of it.... because this time, you WILL KNOW for sure what I am talking about.
Thirteen years ago, I attained dual undergraduate degrees in electrical engineering and math, then promptly started full-time at InterSystems using neither. One of my most memorable and stomach-churning academic experiences was in Stats II. On an exam, I was solving a moderately difficult confidence interval problem. I was running out of time, so (being an engineer) I wrote out the definite integral on the exam paper, punched it into my graphing calculator, wrote an arrow with “calculator” over it, then wrote the result.
What is the best way to develop Angular applications while working with CCR?
CCR peer reviewers require submitting Angular source files, so that a peer reviewer has something readable to review. However, CCR environments require that you deploy compiled Angular applications to them.
The first part of this article provides all the background information. It also includes links to the DATATYPE_SAMPLE database, which you can use to follow along with the examples.
In that section, we explored an error type ("Access Failure") that is easy to detect, as it immediately triggers a clear error message when attempting to read the data via the database driver.

I think I found my solution but I'm trying to understand better why it works. Forgive me as my descriptions here may be scattered but I'm trying to piece the puzzle together.
I have a new project to store information from REST responses into an IRIS database. I’ll need to sync information from at least two dozen separate REST endpoints, which means creating nearly that many ObjectScript classes to store the results from those endpoints.
I recently helped a site investigate a problem that appeared after they upgraded their Windows instance of Caché from 2015.1 to 2017.1. A terminal session launched from the server's desktop cube was unable to run OS-level commands using the $ZF(-1) function. For instance, using the no-op command "REM" as follows:
write $zf(-1,"rem")
was returning -1, indicating that the Windows command could not be issued.
I'm a newbie that doesn't know much about integratedML and looking for a first push into it, I've setup VSCode with my IRIS 2024.3 running in Linux and my understanding is that we can create models using SQL, so first, do I need to setup a specific environment where I can run my SQL commands to create & train Models or just using SMP, and do I need to install or enable Python ..etc things required to setup the environment?
Then if there are easy samples or training materials on how to create, train & deploy my model?

For all Prosthetics orders: when ORC-1(Order Control) is "NW" (New Order), need to update OBR-18(Placer Field 1) based on PV1-2 (Patient Class) value. assumption is that the selection logic is that all prosthetics orders with OBR-18 field is always blank. Description : If PV1-2 is I, insert I in OBR-18 If PV1-2 is O, insert O in OBR-18 If PV1-2 is E, insert O in OBR-18 If PV1-2 is P, insert O in OBR-18 If PV1-2 is R, insert O in OBR-18 If PV1-2 is B, insert O in OBR-18
I've conducted some tests using different InterSystems IRIS Community Edition container images, which I pulled from https://containers.intersystems.com.
During this process, I noticed some inconsistencies that I’d like to clarify:
Great news for all those of you who have missed the Super Early Bird discount for the InterSystems READY 2025! You still have a chance to get an Early bird discount up until 26th of May! So don't miss you chance to participate in the event of the year.
The 2024.1.4 and 2023.1.6 maintenance releases of InterSystems IRIS® data platform,InterSystems IRIS® for HealthTM, and HealthShare® Health Connect are now Generally Available (GA).
I was wondering if someone could help me. In the past I have been able to call external Stored Procedures through a SQL Outbound Connection and have them return me the EnsLib.SQL.Snapshot to use within a BPL to extract data.
But this time instead of using a SQL Outbound BO to make the Stored Procedure call, I decided to create a Linked Stored Procedure through the %JDBC_Server to point to the Stored Procedure out on MS SQL.
However, I am struggling to get the code just right to return the Column value from the Linked Stored Procedure.

Would like to replace our scheduled Tasks to instead run in a production, so basically the same code running in OnTask () to be instead called in a Business Service (I guess) and use the Interval filed to specify the iteration, so with adapter would be suitable in this case, and I noticed the Schedule filed as well but not sure how to use it?
When using standard SQL or the object layer in InterSystems IRIS, metadata consistency is usually maintained through built-in validation and type enforcement. However, legacy systems that bypass these layers—directly accessing globals—can introduce subtle and serious inconsistencies.
Who hasn't been developing a beautiful example using a Docker IRIS image and had the image generation process fail in the Dockerfile because the license under which the image was created doesn't contain certain privileges?
In my case, what I was deploying in Docker is a small application that uses the Vector data type. With the Community version, this isn't a problem because it already includes Vector Search and vector storage. However, when I changed the IRIS image to a conventional IRIS (the latest-cd), I found that when I built the image, including the classes it had generated, it returned this error:
Hi - I'm refreshing my IRIS instance, now upgraded to 2025.1, and ensuring IPM is installed in each namespace, as well as git-source-control, but in my first attempt I get this error.
Everything else seems to work - but why the error (I'd like to get rid of it) ?
I am brand new to using AI. I downloaded some medical visit progress notes from my Patient Portal. I extracted text from PDF files. I found a YouTube video that showed how to extract metadata using an OpenAI query / prompt such as this one:
