? %QUERY Wizard in VSCode ?

For my recent tutorial, I used %Query Wizard of Studio.

Could any of the VSCode experts please show me how to generate

Query Statement with input parameters, CONTAINID , ROWSPEC
and the required class methods
- <queryname>Execute()
- <queryname>Fetch()
- <queryname>Close()

I was just not able to do it.

In this article I will explain the usage of %SQL_Diag.Result and %SQL_Diag.Message table along with all-new LOAD DATA functionality.

It is recommended to go through LOAD DATA documentation first.

After successful operation LOAD DATA insert one record in %SQL_Diag.Result table and details are inserted in %SQL_Diag.Message table


Below is the basic command when table is already created and source file does not contain header row. 

LOAD DATA FROM FILE 'C://TEMP/mydata.txt' 
INTO MyTable

The file name must include a .txt or .csv (comma-separated values) suffix and both source and target have the same sequence of data columns.

Creating an IDKEY with a chosen name

What do you do if you want to have the ID field have a meaningful name for your application?

Sometimes it comes to pass that when you're making a new table that you want to have the unique row identifier (a.k.a. IDKEY) to be a field that has a name that is meaningful for your data. Moreover, sometimes you want to set this value directly. Caché fully supports this functionality and it works Suppose you have a class Test.Kyle. The data will be stored like so:

^Test.Kyle(IDKEY)=$LB("",Field1,Field2,...,Fieldn)

Hi,

I was struggling with a procedure that was meant to receive a string and use it as a filter, I've found that since I want the procedure to do some data transformation and return a dataset, I needed to use objectScript language.

I've created the procedure using the SQL GUI in the portal, and everything works fine when calling the procedure from the SQL GUI but not through a JDBC connection here is the call "call spPatientOS('2024-04-07T12:35:32Z')"

Hi all,

I'm trying to use LOAD DATA to insert 11k (11,377) rows of data. LOAD BULK DATA is not available for the version of IRIS I am using.

After calling LOAD DATA it says only 5,500 rows has been inserted. The LOAD DATA docs says any error rows are skipped and a count of skipped rows can be found in %SQL_Diag.Result however there are no results here. There are no errors in the xDBC error log either.

Why have over half the rows been skipped?

Hi,

we're planning some work on our SQL Query Plan functionality for a future release of InterSystems IRIS and are interested to hear how you're using them today, or what'd keep you from using them. Rather than try and fit everything in a rigid survey, I thought a simple thread on our beloved DC might also reveal some use patterns that we support or could do a better job on.

One of our apps uses a class query to support a ZEN Report and works just fine in that report, producing the expected results every time. We’ve since migrated to InterSystems Reports and noticed that, for a report using the same class query, 100s of extra rows with the same column values appear at its bottom.

A custom SQL index with Python features

Image search like Google's is a nice feature that wonder me - as almost anything related to image processing.

A few months ago, InterSystems released a preview for Python Embedded. As Python has a lot of libs for deal with image processing, I decided to start my own attemptive to play with a sort of image search - a much more modest version in deed :-)

To disable the timeout, set the query timeout to disabled in the DSN settings:

Windows Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Data Sources (ODBC) > System DSN configuration

If you check Disable query timeout, the timeout will be disabled.

If you want to change it on the application side, you can set it at the ODBC API level.

Set the SQL_ATTR_QUERY_TIMEOUT attribute when calling the ODBC SQLSetStmtAttr function before connecting to the data source.

mySQL data importer tool

Hi,

If you want to import data from a mySQL export file (exported with mysqldump), you will find here a little script that could help.

Only the INSERT commands in the sql file are executed into Caché. Indices are not computed for better performance.
%NOINDEX, %NOCHECK and %NOLOCK are generated on each INSERT line.

Currently, the file can not contain a "),(" pattern inside the values part of the INSERT command. If this is the case, the line is skipped. This feature may be implemented in the extractValuesList method.
