My goal is to serve files using REST classes only (no filesystem should be used), and I am a halfway far from it.

What I am succeeded in, is serving character files (html/css/javascript/etc) using the next approach:

Applications that work with bill payments and receipts, as well as the delivery and inventory of items, generally require the use of barcodes or QR Codes. We left our application over the weekend, secure in the knowledge that it was returning data from our primary persistent class, User.Widget. However, Widgets Direct are the premier supplier of both Widgets AND Widget Accessories, so we should really start working on adding these Accessories to our application.

Using SOAP Web Services or REST API Resources, if you want to deliver strategic digital assets for your organization, SOA aproach is an excellent option. The InterSystems IRIS supports like a charm the SOA principles with Contract First technique to model services aligned with the business, and create the services from the service contracts (Open API or WSDL).

If you have been wondering about how to use SQL along with Frontier, you came to the right place. That's because since Frontier wraps the common Caché SQL API within it's own, you need to use the API provided from it. But you don't need to worry about its learning curve, because the Frontier SQL API is really simple.

We are building a bunch of rest based services using Ens 2016.2 to serve our browser based application (Angular 4).

Two questions:

1. The initial authentication seems only work if credentials are placed in the url parameters. Trying to use the Authorization header instead, the client code immediately complains about Access-Control-Allow-Origin. How can I resolve this?

2. After initial authentication, what is the proper way to send subsequent rest calls without having to include credential every time?

In our last lesson, we added a form to Edit our existing Widgets, and save them back to the server. However, our Form was not well structured and our Save button had no intelligence, and was not fully visible. So today, we will apply some Material components and Angular style to make the form more useful

In our last lesson, we added some formatting and validation to our Edit Widget form. So, now we are ready to add the ability to add new Widgets to our application. However, the great Widget Wars have come to an abrupt end, as Widget Direct has purchased its biggest competitor, WorldWideWidgets. In order to maintain some continuity, we need to display their catalog on our new application.

I just want to share with you the knowledge aka experience which could save you a few hours someday.

If you are building REST API with IRIS which contains more than 1 level of "/", e.g. '/patients/all' don't forget to add parameter 'recurse=1' into your deployment script in %Installer, otherwise all the second and higher entries won't work. And all the entries of level=1 will work.

/patients

- will work, but

/patients/all

- won't.

Here is an example of CSPApplicatoin section which fix the issue and which you may want to use in your %Installer class:
