This is the second part of my long post about package managers in operating systems and language distributions. Now, hopefully, we have managed to convince you that convenient package manager and rich 3rd party code repository is one key factor in establishing of a vibrant and fast growing ecosystem. (Another possible reason for ecosystem success is the consistent language design, but it will be topic for another day.)
Is there a way to run code on another machine? Of course, all authentication info is known. I know only about RemoteResultSet but that seems to be query specific.

I am unable to get them outside of %SYS namespace using Security.Users class. Is there another mechanism to do that, or I am using Security.Users class incorrectly?

My VSCode folder was set up to connect to a namespace, but the namespace was deleted. I tried changing the namespace from the menu but it fails (could not retrieve list of namespaces), but I do get the following error message:

I have the class ConfigUtils.ConfigSettingsTable, which is a persistent object. I know I need to map packages from the original namespace. In this case, I have mapped ConfigUtils.ConfigSettingsTable from the originating namespace (IRISTST database) across all other namespaces.
Currently, we have an application running in one namespace ("Database B") that has globals and routines mapped to another database ("Database A"). After enforcing clean up on Database A, we found that 90% of the disk is free. We would like to compact Database A and release the unused space. However, we are running OpenVMS, which seems to be the issue.
For databases consisting of only globals, we are able to use ^GBLOCKCOPY; however, we need to ensure that the routines and mappings are also copied.
Our application needs to create system users from a request form.
To use Security classes, it is necessary to have rights to use the %SYS namespace, which is not the case for users who validate requests.
It is not desirable for these users to have this role permanently, so I proceeded as follows:
I created a facade class for the Security.Users, Security.Roles, Security.Resources classes which allows me to log in with an authorized user on the NS %SYS
I have a couple of new namespaaces/databases that are read-only. I don't remember changing them to read-only, and although my username has %all (I installed the system), I am unable to change the "Always mount as read-only" property.

The InterSystems extensions enable you to use VS Code to connect to an InterSystems IRIS server and develop code in ObjectScript. The Visual Studio Code Documentation is an excellent resource on VS Code, so it is a good idea to be familiar with it.
I have created a global say ^myglobal and entered some data. I am storing the name of global in databases and fetching the name based on some criteria. I am getting "^myglobal" in return from databases but i am not able to fetch the data I stored in the global.
I tried set var = result.global which gives me "^myglobal" in var. Doing WRITE var will return "^myglobal" and not the data i stored in this global.
In a fresh IRIS Community Edition container if we create a new Database and after we create a new Namespace enabling it for interoperability then we will see the message "ERROR #68: the mounted database count exceeds license limit"
Is there anyway to delete a task if the namespace associated with task is already deleted?
We have a custom purge task which is associated with an old namespace( which is already deleted) . All the option in the task details are now disabled. Is there anyway to update it or delete it?

I have a Zen Page with tablepane which has a datasource in a different namespace to that of the Zen Page. When the page is run, no data is returned and the tablepane is not populate, even though the rerferenced table contains dat.
I noticed today that when adding a namespace (localhost) to the Workplace in VS Code, it is being created as read-only.
I haven’t encountered this issue before - previously, I was able to add the namespace with full access and could edit files without any problems. The settings appear to be the same as before.
Is there a sensible approach to having a lookup table in Namespace A, and then accessing this from Namespaces B, C, D (etc)?
I'm trying to avoid creating a Global mapping of the lookup table global (^Ens.LookupTable) as I fear that it would then link all other lookups in that global and lead to some unexpected behaviour, but would be open to trying something in this realm if it's the best option.
In my cache studio i couldn't find the a namespace of iknow so how can i check is my studio version is compatible to to the one i am using now. If i don't have one then can be able to create a new namespace in studio?
I need an example of what I need to "map" to have a common dashboard defined so it will visible/usable in multiple namespaces.
I have created a dashboard in "SAMPLES" (namespace and database) and I would like to have this dashboard be accessable/useable from a 2nd namespace, but I'm not having any success in doing mappings (global/package/routine/data) to be able to get DeepSee to be able to see/display the dashboard.
Currently we are exploring how we can allocate additional disk space to our current environment as we have seen a significant increase in growth of our Database files. Currently we have 3 namespaces, all with 1 IRIS.dat each that contains both the Global and Routines.
Since we have started down the route of everything within a single IRIS.dat file for each namespace, is it logical as we see growth to be able to split the current IRIS.dat for each namespace into a separate IRIS.dat for global and a IRIS.dat with for routines for each namespace in a Mirror environment?
Over time, while I was working with Interoperability on the IRIS Data Platform, I developed rules for organizing a project code into packages and classes. That is what is called a Naming Convention, usually. In this topic, I want to organize and share these rules. I hope it can be helpful for somebody.
