My name is Malcolm King and I’m an experienced IT Professional seeking full time employment.
I have 25 years of experience in the software development industry, with a wide variety of skills and knowledge. I have been involved in writing both front and back end code, along with interfacing to multiple systems, using multiple languages such as Cache Objectscript, C#, Java, Javascript and SQL.

I save / compile a class and instantly run a debug. No issue

A few seconds later, try to run the same debug and get presented with either:

1) Target Source is not compiled (Open launch json) dialog box

OR

2) The version of the file on the server is newer.

In the meantime I have made no edits to the VS Code window at all.

Today, we continue talking about Interoperability, specifically monitoring your Interoperability deployments. If you haven't yet, set up Alerting for all your Interoperability productions to get alerts about errors and production state in general.

Inactivity Timeout is a setting common to all Interoperability Business Hosts. A business host has an Inactive status after it has not received any messages within the number of seconds specified by the Inactivity Timeout field. The production Monitor Service periodically reviews the status of business services and business operations within the production and marks the item as Inactive if it has not done anything within the Inactivity Timeout period.
The default value is 0 (zero). If this setting is 0, the business host will never be marked Inactive, no matter how long it stands idle.

The Certification Team of InterSystems Learning Services is developing an InterSystems IRIS Developer Professional certification exam, and we are reaching out to our community for feedback that will help us evaluate and establish the contents of this exam.

Recently, I needed to run WebGateway on an additional port but with a twist - this port should publish only one web application.
At first, I thought about configuring Web Gateway to allow only specific web applications (~urls), but Web Gateway configuration is per Apache configuration:

In this article we are going to see how we can use the WhatsApp instant messaging service from InterSystems IRIS to send messages to different recipients. To do this we must create and configure an account in Meta and configure a Business Operation to send the messages we want.

Let's look at each of these steps in more detail.

Setting up an account on Meta

This is possibly the most complicated point of the entire configuration, since we will have to configure a series of accounts until we can have the messaging functionality.

Hi community.

Yes, I know that there is other question "VS Code - debugging doesn't work" that is the same issue, but my IRIS instance is not using IIS.

Some times ago, I could debug without problems, but after some updates of Visual Studio, I get the following error

Failed to start the debug session. Check that the Intersystems server's web server supports WebSockets

I have been using embedded python for more than 2 years now on a daily basis.
May be it's time to share some feedback about this journey.

Why write this feedback? Because, I guess, I'm like most of the people here, an ObjectScript developer, and I think that the community would benefit from this feedback and could better understand the pros & cons of chosing embedded python for developing stuff in IRIS. And also avoid some pitfalls.

Hello everyone,

I am looking for the syntax or the way to use a class created in the "BNA" Namespace (my application) from the %SYS Namespace.

Here is the context:

I have a "BNA" application contained in the "BNA" NS, this application provides a user creation functionality. This feature creates both the user in a table in the application and in the Iris system.

Looking at enabling long file paths (see https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/win32/fileio/maximum-file-path...) on some Windows machines - does anyone know offhand if IRIS plays well with this in all respects?
