UPDATE: since version 0.0.4 of the extension was published on 2025-11-23 it is now possible to use gj :: configExplorer directly in VS Code on Windows.

In my previous article introducing gj :: configExplorer I flagged up how an apparent bug in the Windows elements of the Native API for Node.js means it's not currently available to run in VS Code on a Windows desktop. In a comment on that article I offered a workaround, but this requires a Docker-equipped Linux host you can SSH to.

If you don't have a suitable target it's now possible to leverage your local Windows Docker Desktop.

How do you assign a property in a RUL (not a DTL or BPL) from a function value?  I've tried with the package/classname, without, with .., without and even looked all the way down to the parser but still can't see how.  There is no examples and the documentation doesn't help

One of the recommendations when deploying InterSystems Technologies for production is to set up High Availability. The recommended API Manager for these InterSystems Technologies is the InterSystems API Manager (IAM). IAM (essentially Kong Gateway) has multiple deployment topologies.

If you are looking for high availability you could use:

a) Kong Traditional Mode: Multiple Node Clusters

b) Hybrid Mode

c) DB-less Mode

Details:
The following command confirms that the directory exists:

It returns 1, meaning the path is valid and accessible.

However, when I try to execute this SQL query:

I am trying to include in my Data Transform, if OBX 5.1 (Observation Value) Contains certain text i.e. DETECTED then populate the Abnormal Flag field with a certain letter.

Sometimes the text can be uppercase, lowercase or a multiple of both.

Any help would be much appreciated.

A colleague gets ERROR #822: Access denied every time he tries to log in via Management portal. It is NOT the case of wrong credentials: I reset his password password to a temporary one so it would prompt him to create a new one upon first login. He did get the prompt, changed his password and his next attempt at logging in displayed the same error.

The audit log record displays this:
Error message: ERROR #862: User is restricted from running application /csp/sys/op, %Admin_Operate:U required -- cannot execute.

I want to integrate Google Cloud Pub/Sub with InterSystems IRIS(HealthShare) and I see that InterSystems does not provide any out of the box Inbound/Outbound adapters for this integration though it has adapters for Kafka and other similar services. Any suggestions would be really appreciated.

The InitialExpression keyword values does not to set default values for properties in classes that extend %CSP.Page, unlike in other class types such as %Persistent or %RegisteredObject, where it works as expected during object instantiation (typically via %New()).

1. Is %CSP.Page instantiated using %New() under the hood, or does it use a different initialization mechanism?
2. Are there specific limitations or behaviors in CSP pages that prevent InitialExpression from working as expected?

Just thought I'd share quite a handy hook that has helped me out when developing on Health Connect Cloud with VS Code and GitBash. When developing on Health Connect Cloud, if changes are made directly on the server such as routing rules or component deployments, they aren't automatically included in source control, therefore you must export from the server into your local files and push to your remote repo. I'm sure there are easier methods to deal with that which I'm in the process of testing, but as a quick solution I thought it would be handy have a pre-commit hook which triggers a reminder in GitBash - see below.

One way to optimize query performance is to use query parallelism on a per-query or system-wide basis (a standard feature).

This is a technique for dividing the execution of a particular query among processors on a multi-processor system. The query optimizer will execute parallel processing only if there is a possibility of benefiting from parallel processing. Parallel processing is only applicable to SELECT statements.

Note that the number of parallel processes cannot be specified, as it is automatically adjusted according to the number of CPUs.

Hi everyone,

I'm currently seeking a new position related to InterSystems technologies. My major skill is app integration and data flow development on the InterSystems IRIS platform (Interoperability). I develop high-load, mission-critical software. My coding background on Cache ObjectScript includes hundreds of data flows, thousands of Production business hosts, dozens of APIs, and other solutions on InterSystems IRIS. I worked to integrate such applications as SAP S/4HANA, Oracle Siebel, SAP Commerce Cloud, many custom apps, and all that can be integrated. I have also gained experience in various areas, including SQL, Java, Docker, IRIS administration, Apache Kafka, and Flutter (Dart).

My problem was separating HL7 messages by message type.  I had to create multiple File Operations.  So I with custom code I am able to use 1 File Adapter for 1 interface and multiple message types.  I did experiment pulling the MSH 4 out of the raw content to further access dynamic information, but that may open a need for more robust error checking / lookup default actions.

Using the recommended naming convention of "To_FILE_<IntegrationName>"

I decided to use a generic file name and path in the default settings.

I created a custom class that extended the EnsLib.File.
