We are go to set up an odbc connection using data direct odbc on a linux redhat install, x86_64 gnu

I have downloaded the ODBC-2017.2.2.865.0-lnxrhx86.tar.gz and now need to set up the entry in the odbc

Problem is, what .so do I use??

I thought I should be able to go to the application error log or look at d ^%ER when I get the following error in the browser when troubleshooting a CSP page:

An error occurred with the CSP application and has been logged to system error log (^ERRORS)

However nothing is being generated in these logs. Where are these logs being made?

Long story short, I created some test data, then deleted it. The database (cache.dat) is 67 GB in size (was around 1 GB before tests).

In MSSQL I think you can do something like this:

I am trying to install Caché 2016 on a Debian Jessie machine; so I downloaded the latest release from WRC, OS RHEL x86_64, in tarball format.

I untarred it, then launched cinstall; unfortunately a library was missing. I then elected to kill all the processes (which wasn't easy), remove the two users created, and start again.

Let's say I open a stream/file.

If it's not in UTF8 i need to call $ZCVT, and if it's already in UTF8, then I don't need to call $ZCVT.

Is there any way to determine character encoding for input stream/file?

We are planning to use Caché users on a SOAP web-service, so the WS-security tokens will be used.
It will be username and password only for now.
The passwords should expire on a regular basis and this will be configured in the system-wide security settings.
The consumer of the web-service should be able to change their password on-demand or when it has expired, via a web-service call.

For the on-demand change, I can create a service method which can be called by the consumer to change the password.

I checked it in .Net response, that didnot recognize the File-data part

2. I noticed, there is :

SET BinaryMIMEPart.ContentType="application/octet-stream"

but missing :

SET BinaryMIMEPart.ContentDisposition (as analogue, let say for VBA EXCEL )

or I do it via the:

Do BinaryMIMEPart.SetHeader("Content-Disposition",...) ?

that is not analouge for VBA

I'm unable to locate a set of instructions that would allow me to encrypt the traffic to/from the Cache' Management Portal (that is - run it over HTTPS)

I am referring to the Management portal as hosted by the private Apache Web server instance installed with Cache. (I know how to do this for regular web sites hosted on, for example, IIS).

I would imagine the steps would involve, (a) enable SSL on that apache instance and (b) deploy certificates into the Apache web server.

Does anyone have a step-by-step guide on how this is accomplished ?
