The questions about working with files over http arise fairly often on community and I'm usually linking to my FileServer project which demonstrates file upload/download but I'd like to talk a bit more on how we can serve and receive files from InterSystems products.

Now, I would like to add some details about converter and validator services.

By default, OpenAPI-Suite sends an HTTP request to converter.swagger.io if the specification version is less than 3.0 and another HTTP request to validator.swagger.io to simplify the structure of the specification document.

Although the usage of online utilities is convenient, in some cases it could be better to have our own instance of the converter and validator. For example, if OpenAPI-Suite is provided on a server in an organisation for ObjectScript developers, it may be preferable to avoid requests to external services (privacy, avoid request rate limits).

Asymmetric cryptography is a cryptographic system that uses pairs of keys: public keys which may be disseminated widely, and private keys which are known only to the owner. The generation of such keys depends on cryptographic algorithms based on mathematical problems to produce one-way functions. Effective security only requires keeping the private key private; the public key can be openly distributed without compromising security.

In such a system, any person can encrypt a message using the receiver's public key, but that encrypted message can only be decrypted with the receiver's private key.

Robust authentication is also possible. A sender can combine a message with a private key to create a short digital signature on the message. Anyone with the sender's corresponding public key can combine the same message and the supposed digital signature associated with it to verify whether the signature was valid, i.e. made by the owner of the corresponding private key. I'd like to share the code we used in a hands-on session in the last InterSystems Iberia Summit (Spain) about developing a simple Angular app using InterSystems IRIS as backend.

In this short article I would like to present an example of use that surely many of you who work with IRIS as the backend for your web applications have faced on more than one occasion and it is how to send a file to your server from the frontend.

The Carbon Footprint Counter application uses the GHG Protocol to measure carbon emissions on enterprises. The GHG protocol establishes comprehensive global standardized frameworks to measure and manage greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from private and public sector operations, value chains and mitigation actions.

So far, we have covered how to use ObjectScript to manage users, roles, resources, and applications. There are a few other classes in this package that work similarly to the ones mentioned above. However, these four classes are the ones everyone will have to use to manage their application security.

I have Mac OSX and Docker Desktop 2.2 (Engine 19.03).

I have a REST service running on my localhost (Mac) and I was trying to consume it from IRIS running in a Docker container.

If you try something like that don't use localhost as HTTP Server setting (using a Business Operation for example).

You have to use host.docker.internal.
