Hello!

I'm interested to hear if folks have experience using Docker containers with Caché instances using ECP. Wondering if there are any special considerations when setting up a distributed application with multiple containers communicating with ECP. Any input is appreciated!

How to use the IRIS Native API in Python to access globals and plot some charts.

With a large adoption and use in the world, Python have a great community and a lot of accelerators | libraries to deploy any kind of application.

I found the need to merge 2 Docker images
(e.g. intersystems/iris-community:2020.2.0.199.0 + my home grown NodeJS Image).
I found some advice on the Web but no real convincing solution.

What’s the contest about?

In the last year, InterSystems added and expanded Native APIs for Java, .NET, Python, and Node.js. The Native API provides high speed access to globals, the ability to instantiate and use ObjectScript objects, and fine-grained control over transactions.

When I start IRIS in docker every time I do the following:

$ docker-compose up -d --build

$ docker-compose exec iris iris session iris

USER>zn "NAMESPACEINEED"

Is it possible to have an open terminal command connect to a particular namespace?

Working from home during these Corona-days I'm short on resources.
- no Linux machine available
- limited disk space
So I decided to give Docker in Windows 10 (named Docker Desktop) a try.

Last time we launched an IRIS application in the Google Cloud using its GKE service.

And, although creating a cluster manually (or through gcloud) is easy, the modern Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) approach advises that the description of the Kubernetes cluster should be stored in the repository as code as well. How to write this code is determined by the tool that’s used for IaC.

In the case of Google Cloud, there are several options, among them Deployment Manager and Terraform.
