I am looking for a database management tool I would have expected to find something like on the SMP website

Aim

show current database usage (ie size allocation) by database then table etc and allow continued drill down,

show information as a table, so can then sort by size to find the biggest item easily

also show it graphically

And then have ability to track and trend growth in size over time

identify a normal growth pattern

alert if variation (higher or lower) from normal based on recent trend

My project need to restore the previous part of the log, and I use the rountine "^JRNRESTO" and filter. After recovery completed, the table structure is restored, but the table data is not restored， also unable to insert data into the table.

Can I please check if anyone know why the data base resource is created differently when creating a namespace after specifically selecting it to use the default resource %DB_%DEFAULT?

I created a namespace and when creating the DB I selected the option to use the default resource

When the namespace creation was complete , database is using a new resource instead of the default.

I'm testing some functionalities about Foreign Tables and it works smoothly with PostgreSQL database, but I found out an issue with MySQL database, I followed the documentation:

We have noticed in the course of the last 18 days our CACHE.dat has grown by 20 GB. Is there a way we can break down the data in CACHE.dat to see what could be growing in size?

Let me state it another way.....Is there a way to see what space an Operation/Service/Process is taking up within a certain Production?

I am trying to get the time difference between two time stamps one is recorded earlier to the one happening current but the problem is sql expect string while I have the other stored in a variable and if I do the following I get errors any help please

&sql(SELECT {fn TIMESTAMPDIFF(SQL_TSI_HOUR,$ZDT($H,3,1,3),tx)})

please note that tx is a variable holding the time formatted the same way as the one being compared to

I see command shortcuts for getting journal details, like Status^JOURNAL for displaying the journal status.

And, I'm using the shortcuts in my shell scripts.

I'm not seeing/finding command shortcuts for getting database details.

If anyone have those details, please share with me.

How do I organize a wildcard search with respect to a database search?

Example of what I am trying to do: s x=$o(^G("ABC","A*",x))

Trying to navigate through the ^G global for all occurrences of "ABC", and "A*" ("A"+wildcard) but I am new to M and don't know positively how to do this. Perhaps I don't use an "*" at all, rather; another convention altogether.

Please advise.

I'll start with an apology as I am trying to wrap my head around the architecture of how InterSystems IRIS database management works. I am attempting to connect to the platform remotely through say a JDBC or ODBC connection in order to run queries, searches (through SQL statements) on my laptop and was trying to understand whether this would be possible? It is possible to setup an inbound client connection and wanted to better understand the architecture of how the database association works for IRIS database management. Does it use it's own internal SQL database or are we able to connect to our own database and which databases are certified to run against the platform?
