I'm trying to figure out what is the best (or at least pros & cons) on how to manage login accounts in a multi-tenant SaaS web based application context.

Assume that a company is designing a collections of web based applications that they will be selling as "services" to their clients, and that these clients will each have their own "users" and "customers" that will be logging into these services.

I am trying to create a %Installer script and I noticed from our documentation that %Installer's <CSPAuthentication> will only accept:

<CSPApplication>
Optional; within <Namespace>. Defines one or more CSP applications; the supported authentication flags are 4 (Kerberos), 32 (Password), and 64 (Unauthenticated).

Is "Delegated" authentication supported? What is it's code?

This is a cross-post so remove if i'm breaking a rule, i just wasn't sure if i was posting to the right place. I've been to the globalsdb website and it doesn't look like i'm going to get much help from there.

We are creating a package (written in Caché Object Script) that will provide access to an external DB (MySQL). Because applications that use our package will be run from machines with various, potentially unexpected, operating systems, we’d like to establish a connection to the external DB without using DSNs (we’ve heard that setting up DSNs on certain non-Windows machines can be cumbersome and problematic).

I'm with a problem in a property, where she has two parameters that conflict, DISPLAYLIST and VALUELIST.

In screen when I'll go to set value in the field, the CACHE transform internally the property of LOGICAL to DISPLAY with propertynameLogicalToDisplay(propertyname), far so good.

My problem is in the property, why, by default she send the value as DISPLAYLIST, in hour of transformation as the value is DISPLAY MODE the error occurs.

How I do to that default value be VALUELIST and not DISPLAYLIST?

we need to upgrade the Cache 5.02 to cache 16 in windows server 12.
How to upgrade cache 16 in same cube of cache 5.02.

note:we need to upgrade existing cache 5.02 not new instance.

The standard ctrl+f search only in current file.

looking for what the timeout value is for the connection for shadowing. and if it is known the timeout for mirroring also.

I'm currently getting this error and when we go to mirroring it would be good to know also, this way we can go back to our network vendor and give them as much info as possible.

The purpose of this post is to ask for everyone's thoughts and input around the use of transient, SQLCalculated/Computed properties within persistent classes.

This approach allows for extra data values needed in SQL queries to be available without having to join to other tables.

Very simple/basic example to illustrate the topic:

Let's say I have a persistent class named ICDAutoCodeDefn to hold ICD Auto-Coding definitions, such as:

I have posted to aid others in diagnosing problem with SSL/TLS connections to superserver port from .NET client executable.

The cache instance this appeared on is quite old - 2011 - so I do not know if Intersystems have added a better error message in a later version

The actual fault was due to the certificate in the %SuperServer SSL/TLS configuration having expired.

The unhelpful message that appeared in the .NET client included the following partial stack trace.

Per the information at http://docs.intersystems.com/latest/csp/docbook/DocBook.UI.Page.cls?KEY=... I am trying to use a call to $ZF("GETFILE") to obtain information about an OpenVMS file. But I get an <ILLEGAL VALUE> error.

For example:

w $zf("GETFILE",filename,"UIC")

reports:

<ILLEGAL VALUE>

My filename variable contains the full path and name of a file that I own. I hold the %All role in Cache.
