When I'm asked questions about SQL, I like Intersystems staff at the WRC, generally ask about the Query Plan. My feeling is that even before you run a query you should examine the results of Show Plan to confirm that the code is going to give me the results in the manner I would expect. If I expect it to leverage an index and I see that it is not then I go back and look at what I might have done incorrectly and try to re-write the query to get the index behavior I'm looking for. I'm trying to connect to an IRIS instance using VSCode, the problem is, there are 2 IRIS instances installed on this server, published by the same hostname using https (port 443) under 2 different subfolders (e.g., iris.demo.com/base & iris.demo.com/test).

When connecting via studio, I was able to connect by using the hostname (e.g., iris.demo.com) and specifying the super server port, while when connecting through VSCode, when specifying the web server port 443, the connection is always defaulted to one of the instance.

Is there a way to exclude specific members from a class when exporting to an XML or UDL file? Bonus question: is there a way to import from that file without overwriting those members that were excluded?

The use case is to export an interoperability production class without the ProductionDefinition XDATA. We plan to source control the production items through the Ensemble Deployment Manager, but we still need to export any custom code in the class definition itself.

I am able to capture two values in two separate contexts in the BPL. One through an API call and another by looking at the contents of PV1:7. These are context.Prov and context.ProvName. I am checking to see if the values contained in the contexts are the same and if yes process further and if not stop.

In the IF statement I tried the below but none worked. Can someone please tell me what I am doing wrong. The trace does show that they are the same value so that's not it.

1. context.Prov = context.ProvName

2. "context.Prov" = "context.ProvName" and

Hi developers,

We have just published an update to the Deltanji version control extension for Visual Studio Code.

When used in certain Deltanji workflows, triggering an automatic checkout on first keystroke could result in the developer working on an outdated copy of the code and only being notified of this later when saving their changes. In order to prevent this from happening checkout now reloads the document immediately.

Error messaging has been improved in two areas - when attempting to cancel code that is not checked out, and when trying to register new code onto a withdraw system.

We have also improved interoperability between the Deltanji extension and the InterSystems ObjectScript one, as well as its handling of multi-component objects.

That is what is called a Naming Convention, usually. In this topic, I want to organize and share these rules. I hope it can be helpful for somebody.

I am trying to convert a base64 encoded string to a pdf. I have tried a lot of possible ways, but never succeeded. I am able to decode the base64 using $System.Encryption.Base64Decode but I am not able to convert it and store this in a path.

On one of my team's systems, we utilize a business operation with the EnsLib.SQL.OutboundAdapter to make SQL queries to another IRIS system using JDBC. To authenticate the connection, we utilize a user account on the target system.

How can I extract the sub-string before the last occurance of a delimeter in a string.

Delimeter = D
