Recently I needed to restore a version of a production class, which was overwritten by compilation and running UpdateProduction. As the correct version was unavailable in the source control, I used journals to restore the data. Journals store a plethora of information about what's happening in the system and are quite a powerful tool. This article explains how to work with journals to extract the data you require.

IRIS Language Bridge Python

At the recent virtual conference I saw the demonstration on being able to run Python within ObjectScript and run ObjectScript within Python thanks to a feature called Language Bridge. Is this available now? If so, am I able to install it? I am currently running HealthShare 2020.1. I have a little bit of experience using Irisnative with Python but was intrigued with the more seamless-looking features offered by the Language Bridge.

Thanks for any insight.

1) I have an oref pointing to an object on disk

2) I save the object which causes an UPDATE / AFTER Trigger to fire, and updates a value in an embedded object property

3) I would like to see that new embedded property value in my in-memory object (for unit testing)

Is there a way to do this via a method call? Or do I need to close the object and re-open it to see the updated value?

Thanks!

Ben

I'm attempting to streamline a process for renaming PDF documents received from multiple vendors to conform to a specification provided by an EMR vendor for ingestion. Things like Document ID, Document Type, Date of Service, Account Number, MRN, etc. all must be included in the filename at defined offsets and lengths. Most of the required values can be extracted from the inbound file's name and the few remaining are static values that would be the same (or handled via a lookup table based on source) for all documents.

Converting from 2018 to IRIS 2024

Hi Guys,

I'm new to IRIS and I'm converting from Ensemble 2018 to IRIS but not sure how to convert my cache.data file to IRIS.dat, I copied my cache.data to a new folder then went to IRIS management portal and created a new database and specified the directory to where my cache.data and saved and I thought that IRIS will automatically convert cache.dat to IRIS.dat but instead it created a new empty IRIS.dat, I guess I was wrong in my assumptions !?

We would like to know how to get the Row Count of the SELECT query. We query external database via ODBC connection.

//tSQL- is a select query.

Set tStatus = ..Adapter.ExecuteQuery(.tResult,tSQL)

We are trying to get the row count of the retrieved records as below; but It doesn't return any value.

tResult.%ROWCOUNT

$$$TRACE("Result set returned with "_tResult.%ROWCOUNT_" row(s).")

Currently, the SQL privileges (SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE) are managed at the tables level, which can be very tedious when you have to administer many roles in an organization, and need to keep them sync with a constantly evolving data models.
By managing privileges at the schemas level, will allow to give SELECT and other DML privileges to *all* or *several schemas* to a role|user, fixing the need to manually synchronize the new tables|views to the roles.

Hey Developers,

You may have already seen the article about creating a post on the Developer Community where you can find general info about creating posts. Still, we've decided that adding a post that focuses solely on the questions can be beneficial. So let's concentrate on how to pose questions.

First of all, let's talk about giving a post a good title. Choosing a good title for a question is essential to attract the right audience and increase the likelihood of getting helpful answers. Here are some tips to help you craft an effective title:
