In our previous article we presented the general concepts as well as the problem that we wanted to solve by using the task engine integrated in InterSystems IRIS, in today's article we will see how we configure an interoperability production to provide a solution.
Workflow Engine Configuration
First we are going to define the roles of the tasks that we are going to manage, in our example we are going to define two types:
As a InterSystems HealthShare Developer, you will be a part of an Agile team to build healthcare applications and implement new features while adhering to the best coding development standards.
InterSystems will end support for using the VxFS filesystem with InterSystems IRIS and label it as deprecated as of the release of InterSystems IRIS 2023.3. InterSystems will continue to support any existing customers using the technology, but it is no longer recommended for new deployments.
We have a handful of cases where we get reflex orders in an interface that contain multiple OBR segments. These are rare but when we get them, they are causing errors in down stream systems because we are unintentionally excluding OBR segments.
Questions:
At the DTL level - is it possible to iterate over this segment WITHOUT altering the underlying schema? If so what would that look like?
I became aware of Python in the early 2000s when I started automating tasks. Some of our processes utilized python scripts. I never figured it out very well, and we decided to do away with Python because nobody on our team was familiar with it.
I am trying to use EnsLib.SQL.Operation.GenericOperation for retrieving (multiple) rows. But I am looking for a way to handing a StreamContainer returned by the operation, in my business process such as receiving it in the Context object and packing it to a request to call another business operation.

Before I run down the "overengineered solution" path, I wanted to throw this out to the group.
We will be receiving HL7 messages via TCP/MLLP that have a PDF document stored in a single OBX segment. As the volume is expected to be somewhat high and the documents could be megabytes in size, it would be preferable to save the PDF payload to disk and replace it with a filesystem path before IRIS does it's first Save%. The idea being that we would than implement an OnDelete that would remove the file when the HL7 message is purged.
I'm moving onto a new role soon and my System integration lead post has become available.
So please apply to come and work for a challenging, hard working and dedicated solutions team as a System Integration Lead at East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust.
At ENHT we're on an exciting digital transformation journey and in this role you'll be key to helping deliver this.
anyone know of a simple way to search a blob of text from a list of keywords in one fell swoop, without having to iterate through each keyword and perform an individual search? Ex.
My dilemma is that I'm working with a file that has three different data records plus the header and trailer. The record type is in positions 21-23. The header and trailer have spaces in positions 1-20. The data records have a variable data in positions 1-20.
Hello; we are scanning 835 files, and need to validate segment types (such as ISA, ST, IEA, etc.) before we give the file the "OK". I see segment types in the management portal under Ensemble / Interoperate / ASC X12 / ASC X12 Schema Structures. Are these segment types stored in an IS table anywhere?
Aside from EnsLib_EDI_X12.Document, are there any other tables that describe, or support, document segment types?
In light of the COVID-19 situation worldwide, InterSystems is working to ensure continuous support for our customers, promote the health and well-being of our employees, and protect the communities where we live and work. Please view our statement and frequently asked questions.
In addition, we have also established a special email address, COVID-19@InterSystems.com, should you have any questions or concerns.
As we have for 41 years, we stand by our commitment to customers and are prepared to support you during this challenging time.
I have a case where I have an external table that lives out in MS SQL. Using Ensemble Security functions has anyone created a csp or cls page that acts like a portal to allow users to Update a multidimensional table without knowing SQL? I could clone the EnsPortal.LookupSettings but that was made for LUT which are only 2 columns.
I know its a long shot but trying to see if there was anything off the shelf that I can use to help meet the requirements of this project.
NewBie's Corner Session 16 Introduction to New Concepts
Welcome to NewBie's Corner, a weekly or biweekly post covering basic Caché Material.
A number of new concepts are introduced in this session that will be developed more fully in subsequent sessions. It is necessary to at least introduce these concepts here because they are all interrelated.
Learn about the creation and configuration of the HealthShare Business Services and Business Operations used to support the receipt and re-transmission of HL7 messages.
Do you need to build an object-oriented application using Caché? Take this course to learn how to create, retrieve, update and delete objects in Caché.
