Hello Community

IRISTEMP database consumes more disk space and make the production instance down when running Bulk SQL queries (maybe other processes aswell)

Is setting up the "Maximum" size it resolves the problem?. Is this setting impacts the performance?

What are the approaches to resolve it

Logging FTP Business Service

I am having an issue with a file not being deleted from the FTP server and returning an error to this effect. The file, however, was fully processed. This causes the file to process again.

My question is I seem to recall a flag that can be set to enable more detailed tracing to be done on the FTP service/adapter. However, I have not been able to locate this. Does anyone recall such a logging setting or was I just dreaming?

To prepare a migration to IRIS I use Docker images.
The (aged) application is built around Caché Terminal
And on Windows, IRIS uses the same ctelnetd.exe as Caché.

In my Docker installation, Telnet Settings are just grayed out in SMP.
and my Terminal can't 'connect.
Port mapping is OK and verified with TCP

Working from the console in Docker with the whole set of ESC and
screen formatting is not acceptable.
We tried WebTerminal but there is just no Partition behind as in Terminal.

When looking at the "Current License Usage Summary" web page, there is a line for both local and distributed "Maximum Connections". I have scrutinized every class that seems reasonable to contain this information but have found nothing that matches the values on the web page. I do not believe these are related to license specifically though I did review all of the potential attributes of the license related classes to no avail.

Hi

We have ODBC 32bit Encryption working on our database with a SSLDEFs.ini file. However 64 bit ODBC Encryption will not work and give generic error, same error if the ini file is not there for 32BIT.

We have copied the ini file to the 64bit folder? Any ideas please?

thanks

objects in javascript :

var oM = new Object;

var mMode=["down","up","click"] ;
var key,val ;
for (key in mMode)
{

val = mMode[key] ;
oM[val]={} ;
oM[val].id ="" ;
oM[val].type ="" ;

...

}

so I can access the .type directly as :

oM.down.type

or:

oM["down"].type

what is the syntax in CACHE or IRIS, to achieve such approach via class/key/property...?

acctually: class/object/key/property anlaogue to ^GLOBAL(key,"property")=val

Hi

We have several rules in router to validate HL7 messages, each rule check a particular field in HL7 message and send back response. We want to run all rules and combine the rules responses into some variable/object and at the end if variable/object is empty it means message is valid, else send the value from this variable/object. This way one message we dont run it again and again, and we can send one message and response will give us combine results from all rules.

For example,

Rule 1 - Check MSH.12 field, Send response "MSH.12 value not valid", and RETURN

Greetings community. I would like to know how to migrate a BD in production to a local environment. When I have a system in production (BD Sql Server) what we do is mount a local copy to do the analysis with the data and not occupy resources of the system in production. My question is: How do you do it with Intersystems technology?

In a Business Process (BPL) I noticed that if I 'm using a "scope" to handle errors then inside the "scope" when a "call" is used, the "request" and "response" action (i.e set for callrequest.prop = request.prop & response.prop = callrespones.prop does NOT work !
The result is that the values of those properties in the callrequest are nulls (I do see the properties names in the content of the callrequest message)

I'm just getting started with Atelier and HealthShare. I created a persistent class, then realized I didn't want it. There is information in help about resetting storage definitions, where you use 'delete' in Studio. I tried that in Atelier. It deleted the class but not the storage. I can't delete the table directly because I didn't set it to allow DDL. This was done in a development environment and there is no data in the table. So, two questions:

I have a HL7 schema listed within Healthshare that is marked as 'Standard' however this doesn't appear to not a standard schema and more of a custom one created (there are very specific Z segments within it) that has somehow been marked as a standard. Is there a way to change it from a Standard to Custom? I realise that this cannot be completed within Healthshare but is there a way to change this within Studio?

Thanks

In Atelier when resolving conflicts with the server the screen shows the Local copy and Server copy and the differences, but depending on where the difference is you cannot tell what what the document is, you need to scroll to the top to see what it is before deciding what to do. It should indicate the class or routine name beside "Conflicting Server documents"

The most upvoted idea on the InterSystems Ideas Portal—garnering 74 votes—requests a lightweight version of IRIS. While the platform has grown into a powerful data engine, many projects require only its SQL database capabilities. This article demonstrates how to build an unofficial, compact IRIS Community Edition image focused solely on core database functionality, reducing the image size by over 80%.

⚠️ Disclaimer

This project produces an unofficial, experimental image of InterSystems IRIS Community Edition.

  • Not supported or endorsed by InterSystems.
  • Use at your own risk. The modifications remove core platform features and may break compatibility with tools, APIs, and expected behaviors.
  • No warranties or guarantees apply, including fitness for production use.
  • Intended only for educational and experimental purposes by advanced users.

Why a Lightweight IRIS?

While IRIS today includes rich functionality—interoperability, analytics, machine learning, system management, etc.—many projects only require its core SQL capabilities. The official Community Edition Docker image is approximately:

  • Disk usage: 3.5–3.8 GB
  • Compressed size: ~1.1 GB

IRIS Light reduces that to:

  • Disk usage: ~575–583 MB
  • Compressed size: ~144–148 MB

This makes it suitable for:

  • Microservice or containerized SQL use
  • CI pipelines with faster startup and pull
  • Horizontal scaling where full features are unnecessary

It's been a while since the new UI for Productions and DTL was published as a preview and I would like to know your opinions about it.

WARNING: This is a personal opinion, totally personal and not related with InterSystems Corporation.

I'm going to start with the Interoperabilty screen:

Production screen:

The style is sober and without frills, following the line of cloud services design, I like it.

Hi Community,

We’re excited to share a brand-new Instruqt tutorial:

🧑‍🏫 RAG using InterSystems IRIS Vector Search

This hands-on lab walks you through building a Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) AI chatbot powered by InterSystems IRIS Vector Search. You’ll see how vector search can be leveraged to deliver up-to-date and accurate responses, combining the strengths of IRIS with generative AI.

✨ Why try it?

Hi All,
I was creating a unit test directory with the below script. But it not creating any directory as mentioned in code. I am working on MacBook with irisusr User as standard installation process.

if '$data(^UnitTestRoot) {

set mainFolder = "UnitTest\NewDir\"

set st = ##class(%File).CreateDirectoryChain(mainFolder _ testSuite)

if $$$ISOK(st) { set ^UnitTestRoot = mainFolder }

else {

write !, "UnitTestRoot folder could not be created. Consult with instructor."

do $system.Status.DisplayError(st)

}

}
