I am currently adding a field to our Existing messaging from Epic, however there might be a possibility I need to back load data into the Ancillary system. While I have the previous messages that can be sent, they do not have this additional field that I am adding to the message.

I can do a lookup against Epic Clarity SQL Database; however, I don't want to throw a wrench into the workflow if the system cannot connect to the Epic Clarity SQL Database.

  • What is the best solution for this?

I was reading this article and I started to get lost in the sauce since I'm new to CCDA. I was wondering if you all had some recommendations for digging into some of the basics needed in order to assimilate this? For instance where it says "Some of the built-in logic for handling CCDAs is controlled by the IHE header....There is little visibility into this process in the product documentation." Are there examples or places where you have been able to find some insight into this sort of thing or maybe this is something that comes with experience?

Hi Community!
As an AI language model, ChatGPT is capable of performing a variety of tasks like language translation, writing songs, answering research questions, and even generating computer code. With its impressive abilities, ChatGPT has quickly become a popular tool for various applications, from chatbots to content creation.
But despite its advanced capabilities, ChatGPT is not able to access your personal data. So we need to build a custom ChatGPT AI by using LangChain Framework:
Below are the steps to build a custom ChatGPT:

  • Step 1: Load the document

  • Step 2: Splitting the document into chunks

  • Step 3: Use Embedding against Chunks Data and convert to vectors

  • Step 4: Save data to the Vector database

  • Step 5: Take data (question) from the user and get the embedding

  • Step 6: Connect to VectorDB and do a semantic search

  • Step 7: Retrieve relevant responses based on user queries and send them to LLM(ChatGPT)

  • Step 8: Get an answer from LLM and send it back to the user

I've been preparing to take the InterSystems HL7 Interface Specialist certificate and on the page that explains the cert it lists one in-person class and one online course. I've been through the suggested online course but when I read through the practice questions there are a lot of things that aren't covered or mentioned in that course. Naturally I could go digging through the documentation but there is no specific guidance about what things to study.
I was just wondering if there is a better organized collection of study materials for cert prep.

Once again I would like to know, if there are any plans to make Java libraries available through normal channels like public mvnrepository, like the whole world it's doing, where anyone can find any JDBC driver to any database in the world but InterSystems.

Currently there is only some useless garbage. There are just very empty files. What was the point of posting it there?

I'm really interested in contributing, but this issue is a huge stopper, and I don't want to do anything.

Let's have another round of code golf, with a different signature today!

Write a classmethod that will receive a variable number of parameters  containing comma-separated strings and/or positive numbers, and returns one of four possible string values.

  • Easy mode: each argument is guaranteed to be one sting or number without commas or white spaces.

Hi VSCode users!

Just want to check with you, is this settings.json file ideal enough if I:

1. Want VSCode to connect to IRIS in docker?

2. Want to use VSCode SQL Tool?

The connection settings file:

{

        "Dockerfile*": "dockerfile",
        "iris.script": "objectscript"
      },
    "objectscript.conn" :{

Work Queue Manager (WQM) is a feature of InterSystems IRIS that enables you to improve performance by distributing work to multiple concurrent processes programmatically. The idea is that you split the work into chunks, and WQM distributes the chunks across worker processes and can provide the info that the work is done.

However, recently, I got an interesting question: there's a large logical transaction composed of ~1,000,000 individual objects and SQL inserts and updates. Some updates are CPU-intensive, so the original idea was to use WQM to split an update into chunks to speed things up.

But, here's a catch: if one of the individual 1,000,000 changes fails (there's a variety of application-level checks so that it can fail, and that's not even that abnormal a behavior), the entire transaction must be rolled back. That creates a problem: each chunk must report success before committing their individual transactions, and someone must get all these reports and decide if we are committing or not.

Unfortunately, it looks like WQM does not have a bidirectional communication between workers and manager, so I suggested an approach using events:

  1. Start jobs.
  2. Wait for all jobs to report success using $System.Event.WaitMsg().
  3. Send Commit or Rollback using the $System.Event.Signal().

Multi-tap or multi-press is the name given to the historic technique of writing SMS on the first mobile phones with a keyboard of 10-12 numeric keys. For example, to type LOL you need to press 5 three times, 6 three times and 5 three times again. Your task is to write a function that takes a string as input and returns the repeated digits associated with each character according to the multi-tap system. Should consider letters from A to Z, doesn't distinguish between upper/lowercase characters. Numbers are allowed, and any punctuation should be ignored.

Hi all,

The last time I used CSP was back in 2008, so I am very rusty on it.
This question might have been asked many times, and the answer probably is that it is a matter of preference.

Are there scenarios to which CSP pages is easier/better to use than classes extending from %CSP.Page?
I want to build a little thing and don't want to start at the wrong end.
Doing an API-based, heavy client-side framework is not a requirement, and I would prefer not to do it that way.

Some of the criteria

  • Users need to do a login.

The new $system.external interface (aka "InterSystems External Servers") is used to call/integrate with external language code/libraries, it replace the old gateways (for example Java gateway) that required the import of proxy objects.

Note that the documentation for the old gateways has been removed from IRIS, so only the new $system.external interface is somewhat (i.e. insufficiently) documented.

Regarding the migration from old gateway to new  $system.external interface the documentation says:

External servers use an enhanced and simplified form of the older Dynamic Object Gateway technology.

Hi everyone!

The other day I was reflecting on the possibilities that FHIR brings us in the world of interoperability and electronic medical records and it gave me mixed feelings, let me explain, first a small introduction.

Introduction

As you well know, FHIR is based on parameterizing a series of concepts that it calls resources in JSON or XML format with the intention of covering the most common cases within the healthcare environment, relying on HTTP communications to cover CRUD and query functionalities.

Hi Community!

In the previous announcement, we asked you what are your thoughts regarding the new rubric Water Cooler Talk - basically a moderated (possibly biweekly) discussion about some programming topic not directly related to the InterSystems products. Since the majority reacted positively, we'd like to invite you to write the topics that interest you in the comments to this post and mention if you would like to lead the discussion.

Let's do a round of code golf! Last one was very popular!

The Chinese zodiac is a repeating cycle of 12 years, with each year being represented by an animal and an element that changes every 2 years.
The animals are: Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog and Pig.
The elements are: Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water.
Your task is to write a function that receives a year, and returns the element and the animal that year represent.
Let's use the year 1924 as start point, in the Chinese zodiac the element was Wood and the animal was Rat.

I am trying to move us to Securing the Management Portal using Apache and the Web Gateway.

Our Development environment/namespace only has 1 server, but both Test and Production have failover/DR mirroring containing 3 servers for Test, and 3 additional servers for Production.

  • Development - 1 server
  • Test -2 server's setup for Failover, and 1 Async DR Mirror
  • Production - 2 servers' setup for Failover, and 1 Async DR Mirror

In Test and Production, the mirroring is setup using an Arbiter and the VIP address is controlled at the Hardware level.

Hello Hello,

I am building a patient room door signage for a customer who has Trakcare already deployed. The app will reflect patient's data upon admission in the hospital (eg. name, male/female, doctor, mrn,  special diet, etc...)

When the patient is discharged, "something" will tell the app that the patient was discharged and the screen will be reset.

Appreciate any kind of direction and help.

Thank you!

I've been running my review collections on OpenExchange now for more than 3 years.
I explained the principle I apply in a past article
These reviews are the first step of the quality check in OEX.

My personal Credo
My expectation of OEX  (expressed in extreme) is to see it rather as
a collection of jewels, than just a flea market.

I start this discussion encouraged by @Evgeny Shvarov in his recent comment

The quality of Open Exchange is very important, of course!
And we have a set of features and processes are intended to understand
and improve the average quality of projects.

Hi Interoperability experts!

Recently noticed an interesting conceptual discussion in our Interoperability Discord channel to which I want to give more exposure.

All we know that typical InterSystems Interoperability production consists of the following chain:

Inbound adapter->Business Service->Business Process->Business Operation->Outbound adapter.

And Business Process (BO) here is always considered as a passive "listener" either on port/folder/rest API for an incoming data.

Earlier today I enrolled at Cloud Services Portal and clicked "Start trial" for the "Health Connect Cloud" service. Next step was "Create Deployment". The only deployment size offered was "Micro", so I picked that, completed the other required details and clicked "Create".

Response was:

I reported this using the "Submit Feedback" option on the dropdown from my username in the top right of Cloud Services Portal but haven't yet received a response. Hence this DC post, in case someone here can tell me what I'm doing wrong.

Currently, the SQL privileges (SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE) are managed at the tables level, which can be very tedious when you have to administer many roles in an organization, and need to keep them sync with a constantly evolving data models.
By managing privileges at the schemas level, will allow to give SELECT and other DML privileges to *all* or *several schemas* to a role|user, fixing the need to manually synchronize the new tables|views to the roles.

If you agree, I invite you to vote for this idea.

I usually receive complains from our customers about the BPL and DTL web pages automatic refreshes, it's a common problem among newbies users but for veteran developers too, they forget to save the changes regularly and automatically the web page is reloaded, losing all the work done.

Maybe an autosave would fix this problem that produces a deep feeling of hate and resentment against InterSystems technology among our customers. I've added an idea in our portal, so feel free to vote it!

In today's landscape, enterprises have grown substantially in scale, amassing vast amounts of data. This data is collected from a plethora of sources including different applications, databases, and other channels. Given the diversity and volume of this data, it's only logical for these enterprises to seek a deeper understanding of what their data entails. Some of the data can be stored in IRIS, and it can be reasonable to be able to add this data to a data lake too.

The Internet now offers many different tools for such tasks, that do not yet support IRIS, but it's achievable.
