We're looking to create a quick and simple test to see if all firewalls are open on 1972 between a linux based web server VM and a VM running InterSystems IRIS. Does anyone have any ideas for a quick command that can be run from UNIX console that will provide confirmation that traffic is able to get to 1972 on an IRIS machine?

BTW - I don't think it makes any difference but the IRIS machine is running Windows

I know this problem something to do with sort and collation and string comparison vs numeric only strings, but I can't fathom out the details of it.

I have a basic task of having one CSV with some data. I need to transform one column in the initial dataset and get the new csv with the same form.

What's the best approach with Interoperability?

Should I user record mapper?

Should I use streams, objects?

What is the best practice?

Very simple, how to debug? The settings recommended in the docs don't work. I need a convenient way to keep track of what a function returns, like in other languages, by displaying it in the console.

I am familiar with $TEXT which can get you any line in the current routine provided you know the offset. For example, $T(+1) will get you the first line of the current routine at the run time. In the same vein, how do I reference the current line number/offset at the run time? Something like $T(+$CURRENTLINENUMBER) where $CURRENTLINENUMBER is not yet known to me function. The sample below would write 3 as the line number.

Is there a way I can call %Save() on a %Persistent object and at the same time prevent indices from being built?

I have a table, with autoincremented id

CREATE TABLE users (
    id SERIAL NOT NULL,
    name VARCHAR(30) NOT NULL,
    PRIMARY KEY (id)
)

I can add a new item there with an explicit id

INSERT INTO users (id, name) VALUES (2, 'fred')

And while my id is autoincremented, I can omit it

INSERT INTO users (name) VALUES ('ed')

So, this time, I don't know the id, and I want to somehow get it.

I could do it with LAST_IDENTITY() function, but it just uses %RowID, and have no relation to the primary id

This is not an issue in ObjectScript, due to its typeless nature. But it's essential for external programming languages that care a bit more about types of variables.

And in any case, it's still reproducible in ObjectScript. I have table

Now Microsoft will force OAuth 2.0 for Outlook365-Mails and want to drop POP3 basic authentication permanetly at Oct/1 2022. All have to use OAuth 2.0 then.

When building the application we are getting messages that say:
