In healthcare, interoperability is the ability of different information technology systems and software applications to communicate, exchange data, and use the information that has been exchanged.
I was discussing the interoperability side of FHIR as part of a discussion about the best resource/s that should be used in order to represent Antibiotic resilience, and although we've reached an agreement, that got me thinking of two thing, and I'd love to know your thoughts on those matters.
Thank you to everyone who joined our User Group Session yesterday!
It was great showing off the new Deltanji Production Component driver that facilitates source control of interoperability productions, and we had some really insightful discussions as well.
If you missed out on the session and would like a copy of the recording, feel free to drop me a message.
I am looking for a way to serialize fhir content received via interoperability adapter into it´s corresponding ISC model class (e.g. HS.FHIR.DTL.vR4.Model.Resource.DiagnosticReport) for later use. In my opinion the outline to accomplish this would be something like
1) Receive the FHIR data 2) Get quick stream containing the JSON data 3) Examine if bundle or single ressource 4) For resource serialize to coressponding model class (HS.FHIR.DTL.vR4.Model.Resource.*) 5) further use of newly created object of type HS.FHIR.DTL.vR4.Model.Resource.*
Hello Everyone ,
Good Day !
I have a question regarding the implementation of USCDI (US Core Data for Interoperability).
Why USCDI was introduced?
What is the disadvantage of previous process ( communication between systems using concept like HL7) ?
What is the impact of implementing this concept in existing systems ? Do we have to change logics for processing the messages?
Will it effect the existing work flow of all the healthcare application?
Is there a way to hide a property in Data Transformation UI in Interoperability for IRIS? I would like the property not to appear in the list of available properties to set.

I am trying to use EnsLib.SQL.Operation.GenericOperation for retrieving (multiple) rows. But I am looking for a way to handing a StreamContainer returned by the operation, in my business process such as receiving it in the Context object and packing it to a request to call another business operation.

This video covers the most common types of queries used to search for FHIR resources in InterSystems IRIS for Health™, and shows how and when to use each type of query in your application.

I have created a FHIR endpoint and send the FHIR resource to FHIR Interoperability production class which is HS.FHIRServer.Interop.Service through the the created endpoint(/r4). I can able to see/get the HS.SDA3.QuickStream(It use CacheTemp.HS.Stream temporary global) on the fly(In between the process). I'm unable to get the FHIR resource from the QuickStream once the process completed. Is this HS.SDA3.QuickStream is wiped out from the system once process completed?
Using Interoperability, I can't figure out how to create separate XML's files from a CSV-file using the GUI-features Record Maps/Complex Record Mapper -> Data Transformations. I'm familiar with reading/writing the files using File Service/Operation, but don't understand the processing-steps.
The preferred method by my colleagues is to do this without any Objectscript or Embedded Python coding, but if this can only be done by some coding that's fine as well.

As promised, here is Part 2 of our interview with Russ Leftwich! In this half, Adam Coppola talks with Russ about some of the InterSystems technologies that play a part in the concepts from Part 1, as well as some specific discussions about modern FHIR applications. After the interview with Russ, we were also joined by Jenny Ames to talk about the upcoming FHIR Dev Days. Check it out, and make sure to go subscribe to Data Points!

I wanted to share each of the first three episodes of our new Data Points podcast with the community here — we previously posted announcements for episodes on IntegratedML and Kubernetes — so here is our episode on InterSystems IRIS as a whole! It was great talking with @Jenny Ames about what sets IRIS apart, some of the best use cases she's seen in her years as a trainer in the field and then as an online content developer, and more. Check it out, and make sure to subscribe at the link above — Episode 4 will be released next week!

A customer wants to create an IRIS for Health business rule via the graphical editor, and then to execute that rule in ObjectScript without the context of an interoperability production. Is this possible, and if so, how?
I have created a HL7 production in my working environment, Ens.Alert ,EMailAlert, PagerAlert, and BadMessageHandler are created.
Can anyone explain how Ens.Alert and BadMessageHandler will work when an HL7 message in Passed in Business service and how these 2 are related when any error occurs in the Production envinorment?
