Hello,

Looking for some additional help, maybe someone who has experience with this before, in setting up and configuring the Web Gateway with Kerberos.

Have read through the documentation (at the link below) and it's a good start but seems there are some details missing, or I'm not clear on.

Questions:

  • Is there a external enterprise Kerberos server required, or is this set up contained within the local server?
  • Is there a step-by-step instructions on what to do and configure to successfully complete this?
  • Are there there config changes necessary for Apache?

Hi Community,

In traditional InterSystems SQL, I can use the %NOINDEX keyword during a bulk INSERT to improve performance and then run BUILD INDEX %ALL afterward to populate the indices.

I am looking to implement a similar strategy for an InterSystems FHIR Server.

  1. Is there a way to import/save FHIR resources while skipping the search table extraction (the FHIR version of %NOINDEX)?
  2. Once the data is loaded, what is the correct programmatic way to "rebuild" the search tables?

Thank you!

Hi Community,

Interoperability metrics were enabled for a production using ##class(Ens.Util.Statistics).EnableSAMForNamespace(). However, after running DisableSAMForNamespace() and DisableStatsForProduction(), the metrics continue to appear in the endpoint output.

Is there a way to completely stop these interoperability metrics from displaying in the API metrics stream? Is there an additional step or cache clear required?

Question Krista Koljonen · Dec 4, 2023

I made a custom application metric, imported it to the USER namespace and used:

set status = ##class(SYS.Monitor.SAM.Config).Add.ApplicationClass("historymonitor.errorSensor", "USER")

to add it. When I do 'w status' it returns 1 so it is added but I still can't see the custom metric in the api/monitor/metrics endpoint. Even though I added %DB_USER in the application roles for api/monitor.

Does anyone know where the problem might be that the metrics endpoint still doesn't show my metric?

Good afternoon,

I have received a WSDL.

I have imported it successfully in HealthShare.

The external is requesting me to send messages with the following structure (using the auto-generated SOAP Bussiness Operation from the WSDL), as you see they need a custom http header titled "Appian-API-Key", as the following:

            curl --request POST \
              --url [ endpoint ] \
              --header 'Appian-API-Key:  << API KEY >> \
              --header 'Content-Type: application/xml' \
              --data '<?xml version='\''1.0'\'' encoding='\''utf-8'\''?>
            <soapenv:Envelope xmlns:soapenv='\''http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/'\''>
              <soapenv:Body>
                <tns:acceptMessage xmlns:tns='\''http://ws.connectors.connect.mirth.com/'\''>
                <![CDATA[  Message  ]]>
                </tns:acceptMessage>
              </soapenv:Body>
            </soapenv:Envelope>'

Over the years, we keep monitoring Orphan Messages, and I have begun to notice the number of ACK/NCK's that do not match the Scheme in which the message was sent so it can't not align or signify that the message was OK. For example, if we send an ADT^A08 HL7 message to the vendor, and they send back a A08 instead of an ACK as the message type.

Currently our default is to have Save Replies on EnsLib.HL7.Operation set to IndexNotOk's.

UPDATE: since version 0.0.4 of the extension was published on 2025-11-23 it is now possible to use gj :: configExplorer directly in VS Code on Windows.

In my previous article introducing gj :: configExplorer I flagged up how an apparent bug in the Windows elements of the Native API for Node.js means it's not currently available to run in VS Code on a Windows desktop. In a comment on that article I offered a workaround, but this requires a Docker-equipped Linux host you can SSH to.

If you don't have a suitable target it's now possible to leverage your local Windows Docker Desktop.

Hello, thanks for your time reading this question.

We are receiving each day, alerts from one of our four Production nodes. It always has the same text:

[InterSystems IRIS SEVERE ERROR gchciris4.canariasalud:ENSEMBLE] [Utility.Event] [SYSTEM MONITOR] CSPGatewayLatency(127.0.0.1:443) Alert: CSPGatewayLatency = 5001.304, 5001.233, 5000.964 (Max value is 2000).

We have looked for it in the documentation here:

Introduction

In healthcare interoperability environments, InterSystems Health Connect typically contains critical components such as productions, business processes, operations, services, utility classes, routines, and other ObjectScript artifacts. Traditionally, many deployments of these components have been done manually, by copying classes, importing XML, or using administrative tools from the management portal.

Was wondering if anyone had a Dynamic way to see if a Global is still being used by a Class File.

We have been monitoring our Global Size recently, and I am trying to find problematic Class files that are not being cleaned up or used appropriately. I have come across some globals that do not seem to have a Class attached to them anymore, and instead of deleting globals 1 by 1, I was looking for a way that we could dynamically do this since the globals have data that is stale in them.

Thanks

Scott

Starting out with ObjectScript, it is really exciting, but it can also feel a little unusual if you're used to other languages. Many beginners trip over the same hurdles, so here are a few "gotchas" you'll want to watch out for. (Also few friendly tips to avoid them)

NAMING THINGS RANDOMLY

We have all been guilty of naming something Test1 or MyClass just to move on quickly. But once your project grows, these names become a nightmare.

➡ Pick clear, consistent names from the start. Think of it as leaving breadcrumbs for your future self and your teammates.

I joined InterSystems less than a year ago. Diving into ObjectScript and IRIS was exciting, but also full of small surprises that tripped me up at the beginning. In this article I collect the most common mistakes I, and many new colleagues, make, explain why they happen, and show concrete examples and practical fixes. My goal is to help other new developers save time and avoid the same bumps in the road.

1. Getting lost among system classes and where to start

The issue: ObjectScript/IRIS ships with many system classes and packages (%Library, %SYS, %Persistent, %SQL, etc.).

What's a good way to add a custom hyperlink to a table item in Clinical Viewer (CV2)? I am customizing the Diagnostic Studies page, and have a custom transform that returns the HTML code for the hyperlink. The hyperlink is supposed to open a custom CSP page in a new window or tab.

Using the layout editor, I then tried adding several "items" to the table like an Icon or External Viewer Link, and use the custom transform to get the hyperlink, but these items only show up as plain text and do not link to any page. How do I turn these items into a hyperlink?

One of the recommendations when deploying InterSystems Technologies for production is to set up High Availability. The recommended API Manager for these InterSystems Technologies is the InterSystems API Manager (IAM). IAM (essentially Kong Gateway) has multiple deployment topologies.

If you are looking for high availability you could use:

a) Kong Traditional Mode: Multiple Node Clusters

b) Hybrid Mode

c) DB-less Mode

Before we break them down let's first understand the out of the box deployment that is provided by InterSystems: Installing IAM Version 3.10.

We are very excited to launch a new AI powered CCR feature which should help our users save time and prevent calls to Support. Today we are introducing the new CCR Transport Log Analyst (or CTLA) AI-Generated summary. The goal of CTLA is to provide an analysis of errors that have occurred in the Transport Log for a specific CCR, and advise the user as to what steps could be taken to correct the situation, as well as what might have been done to prevent it in the first place. When there is an issue with integrating or deploying a CCR, all of the details are captured in the Transport Log.

I am regularly contacted by customers about memory sizing when they get alerts that free memory is below a threshold, or they observe that free memory has dropped suddenly. Is there a problem? Will their application stop working because it has run out of memory for running system and application processes? Nearly always, the answer is no, there is nothing to worry about. But that simple answer is usually not enough. What's going on?

Consider the chart below. It is showing the output of the free metric in vmstat
