I am new to cache. I know there are 2 types of methods in cache. One is Instance method (Which can be call through object creation of particular class) and other is Class methods (which can be call through ##Class(MyPackage.Car).CarModels()).

I want to know the difference when to create a instance method vs when to create a class methods.

I want to make the LOCATION for a %Stream.FileCharacterGzip property we have in a class parameterisable (as in stored in a global), so it can be different for different customers. Is that possible? I've tried doing it a few different ways:
Creating a parameter
Parameter STREAMLOC = {^websystem("auditstream-location")};
then I tried to reference that in the

Property HTMLZIPDoc As %Stream.FileCharacterGzip(LOCATION = ..#STREAMLOC);

but the compiler doesn't like that.

I just said I will create index on conditions which are present in where clause. But as per interviewer I should check How query plan is getting executed. This will help in optimizing Sql queries.

I have a question regarding the Intersystems Caché Database and its jdbc driver. I need to set the connection timeout for the database, but I couldn't find any documentation stating that the jdbc driver for Caché supports setting the connection timeout. However, I noticed that the jdbc driver for the Intersystems Iris Database appears to support this feature.

My question is, can I use the Iris jdbc driver to set the connection timeout for the Caché Database?

in our system we usually display an information if someone locks data that another user tries to edit. Like: "Data locked by <user>/<program>"

We have a global that is set at userlogin with following information:

^BA020(0,3,$job) = "<user>;<program>"

We show that information by getting the jobnr/owner from the locktable ^$LOCK("<ref>","OWNER") and looking at ^BA020.

I am trying to get data out of a cache backup. I am completely new to Intersystems Cache.

I like to be able to call an "autohotkey" executable message box from within a running Cache routine executing as a jobbed routine. The autohotkey executable displays a small pop-up window with a message and an "OK" button .. and will time out in 10 seconds if the user does not press the OK button.

Although $ZF(-1,cmd) executes (where "cmd" contains a simple batch command e.g. @c:\autohotkey\warning.exe), no interactive window appears and, once the autohotkey routine times out, the calling cache routine simply continues.

When using an undimensioned array is there a way to write the array to a file? Something like this

I have problem with Cache installed on a colleague's Windows 10 laptop. On the laptop, Cache was automatically configured to use IIS and this has worked fine with csp applications configured in the Management Portal.

Now this seems to have stopped working, and I can't work out why. In IIS, the web application seems to be in the correct place.

I have manually mapped the various file extensions to CSPms, as per the documentation, but any attempt to navigate to a csp page produces an 500 error, which tells me precisely nothing about why this is happening.

we have a issue with just the 1 namespace, where users log using ldap but arent getting any roles assigned to them.

Ldap does work as the user account is created as a ldap user.

I have gone through the various settings to check that all is setup as required, but cant find a reason why the roles arent being assigned.
