I'm trying to recreate this method below in Cache/IRIS.

I've been following the javascript example. It seems simple in theory but i'm struggling with which cache methods to pick.

$LENGTH, $System.SQL.FLOOR() - seem ok

$EXTRACT - I think for .charAt (though may need to correct base)

$FIND - for .indexOf

Any suggestion which would be the best ones for the job?

Hello Everyone

I am new to cache. I know there are 2 types of methods in cache. One is Instance method (Which can be call through object creation of particular class) and other is Class methods (which can be call through ##Class(MyPackage.Car).CarModels()).

I want to know the difference when to create a instance method vs when to create a class methods.

I can run the following commands from the AIX command line prompt without any problem

-bash-2.05b$ echo t
t
-bash-2.05b$ echo œ
œ

When I call from insider cache, I have problem.

USER>D $ZF(-1,"echo t")
t

USER>D $ZF(-1,"echo œ")

D $ZF(-1,"echo œ")
^
<TRANSLATE>

I am using cache 2017.2. Can someone shed some light?

and i am trying to execute it by its name such as:

*execute the name inside a*

now I know for a fact that if say were written without any argument then do @a would work!

but I can I pass an argument in this case?
I don't want to use Xecute because I am in need of really high performance code.

Hi, I have a class that extend to other classes.

If I compile one of this classes, no problem is generated.

But if I try to compile the first class using flag c-ukb, all that extend from that and have the Date component generate an error.

The error is about the method %GetPaneContents from abstract class.

Do you already passed this? How can I solve my problem?

I have an odd binary result exporting a specific routine via Studio, Export. Below is the beginning. The seemingly same routine in a different directory is exported fine, regular human readable code. Inspecting ^ROUTINE and ^rIndex did not give me any clues. Any insights?

I have one persistent, xml-enabled class.
I need to convert objects of this class to XML.
However I need to project each object in different ways (depending on
where I send it), for example:

• Different list of attributes are projected
• Attributes have different names
• ...

I have a terminal script that queries sys.process' and then parses the results writing to a logfile. As part of the processing of the results, each row of the result set includes an element from the static string. But I am not clear on the scoping of the static string. The write statement sees the static string as undefined. What I want is something to the affect:

set qStat = tState.%Prepare(< sql statement> )
