Options for Python Devs + Poll!

I am writing this post primarily to gather an informal consensus on how developers are using Python in conjunction with IRIS, so please respond to the poll at the end of this article! In the body of the article, I'll give some background on each choice provided, as well as the advantages for each, but feel free to skim over it and just respond to the poll.

I have an application that is requires an Encoded HL7 message sent over SOAP over HTTPS using SSL/TLS... the Response that is return is also encoded, which I know how to Decode but not sure when I Decode the response how to Extract the HL7 message to send back to the router.

How do I capture the Routing Source System and parse the encoded message back into an HL7 format that would show on the trace viewer?

This article describes a significant enhancement of how InterSystems IRIS deals with table statistics, a crucial element for IRIS SQL processing, in the 2025.2 release. We'll start with a brief refresher on what table statistics are, how they are used, and why we needed this enhancement. Then, we'll dive into the details of the new infrastructure for collecting and saving table statistics, after which we'll zoom in onto what the change means in practice for your applications. We'll end with a few additional notes on patterns enabled by the new model, and look forward to the follow-on phases of this initial delivery.

I'm trying to open a TCP connection to a remote system. The Caché command I'm using to open the connection is OPEN "|TCP|"_PORT:(IP::"PSE"):10 where PORT is a port number in the range 40000 to 40100 and IP is a standard IPv4 addess like 10.200.100.50
the connection appears to open because $TEST becomes 1.
I'm then writing to the open port with USE "|TCP|"_PORT:(::"S") WRITE "some text",*-3
It's a windows system

Hi all,

We're developing a medical appointment app that connects doctors' schedules to an appointment provider.

The provider is returning us the appointment in the following format:

Thu Jul 03 08:20:00 CEST 2025

It means, 03 july 2025 at 08:20:00 Central European Summer Time (UTC+2)

But we need the following format:

2025-07-03 08:20:00+02:00

Is there any option to convert zone time code (CEST) to a UTC+x ?

How to convert zone time code (CEST, CET, ET, EDT, etc..) in its zone time in UTC (UTC+2, UTC+1, UTC-5, etc..) ?

Introduction

InterSystems IRIS allows you to build REST APIs using ObjectScript classes and the %CSP.REST framework. This enables the development of modern services to expose data for web apps, mobile apps, or system integrations.

In this article, you'll learn how to create a basic REST API in InterSystems IRIS, including:

I'm using a %Net.HttpRequest which had been successful in the past, but started failing at some point with a SSL/TLS protocol error.

ERROR #6085: Unable to write to socket with SSL/TLS configuration 'groundca', error reported 'SSL/TLS error in SSL_connect(), SSL_ERROR_SSL: protocol error, error:14077102:SSL routines:SSL23_GET_SERVER_HELLO:unsupported protocol'

My HL7 message got "AR" (rejected ack code) and went to the suspended queue. I re-submitted it (without editing it) but forgot to write down the details before doing so. It got "AA" and everything works fine from there.

Now (the next day) I want to check with the downstream system why they returned "AR" initially. Is there a way to search for the original message the got an "AR", along with any returned error message please?

Thanks

W

I am having issues trying to send SOAP requests to a Cloud Based AWS Application that lives outside of our network.

It is using a Basic Authentication, Key, Certificate Authority and Whitelist for Security.

If I attempt the connection using wget from the command line I am able to connect,

I have a stream that I read out until the end. I then append more content to the stream and want to read out only what has been added. How do I only read out the new contents of the stream? Essentially, I want to read a stream, record the end position, then once the stream is updated read the contents from that recorded position until at the new end. This stream needs to be kept intact for historical reference so cannot be cleared between reads.
