Hi,

We have a global with 65 million entries. All we are doing is just iterating through each entry to find out the total no of entries. It is currently taking 110 minutes. Is this something normal? What can we do to speed up this process? Below is the program for just iterating each entry in the global.

s sub=" ,count=0
f{
s sub=$o(^YYY(sub)) q:sub=""
s count= count +1
}
w!, "Total Count:"_ count

Hi Community,

Watch this video to get an introduction to columnar storage, and see how it can be used in InterSystems IRIS data platform to improve the speed of your analytic queries and efficiently store data:

Unix: I'm trying to switch to using the $ZF(-100 function in place of $ZF(-1. I have it working for a simple, single, cmd, but can't figure out how to pass a piped sequence. Maybe this just isn't allowed?

For example:

S sc=$ZF(-1,"ps -Af | grep username")

works, but I can't figure out how to format this for the $ZF(-100 function.

???

Thanks

Many mobile applications that enable users to get information about road fines and pay them, send notifications about newly added fines. This functionality can be efficiently implemented using push notifications sent to users’ devices.

Our application was not an exception. The server side is based on the Ensemble platform that offers integrated support of push notifications starting from version 2015.1.

Do you have any experience / recommendations / best practice on how to update server-side data residing in a Cache database via a REST service?

A naïve approach would be to send a full JSON representation of the data object via an http POST to a method on a REST handler class:

<Route Url="/mydata/:id" Method="POST" Call="Update"/>

The problem I see here is, if only one of the data object's properties has changed, how do we know which? Or do we simply overwrite all properties?

Reply Code Actions Question

Hi Everyone

I'm just wondering if anyone might have a list (or the experience to make a list) of the most often used / useful Reply Code Actions?

In the Help section of Health Connect Management Portal, it lists

'E=F' and ':?R=RF,:?E=S,:~=S,:?A=C,:*=S,:I?=W,:T?=C'

as the default options, though I'm curious if anyone else has found other codes or strings of codes useful?

Thanks in advance.

Best wishes

Robert

Earlier this year, the AppS.REST package was released. AppS.REST is a framework for easily exposing existing persistent classes in IRIS as REST resources. AppS.REST-enabled classes support CRUD operations with little effort from the developer, bridging the gap between persistent data in IRIS and data consumers, such as an Angular front end application.

But IRIS classes are much more than just a definition for loading and saving individual records! This article aims to highlight a few ways to leverage the power of IRIS in your REST applications. Using the Phone.Contact sample app, we'll look at out-of-the-box query support, use of class queries and finally ObjectScript methods.

Ensemble Queue Counts Incorrect

A couple of our queues in Ensemble are reporting a queue count of one however there are no messages in the queue. Does anyone know what the best method is to reset to the queue count back to zero or remove one from the queue count?

Freeze MSM/MUMPS

Hello, today we had another freeze in the system. It was close to 09:55. Logs follow for analysis. Following are MSM/MUMPS logs with about 1050 active connections at the time of the freeze. Does anyone see something different?

FHIR Terminology Service specification describes a set of operations on CodeSystem, ValueSet and ConceptMap resources. Among those operations, the following four operations appear to be the most widely adopted ones:

CodeSystem ValueSet
$lookup
$validate-code
$expand
$validate-code

Developing a partial implementation of the specification has been an effective way to explore the new FHIR framework introduced in IRIS for Health 2020.1. The implementation includes four operations listed above, and supports read and search interactions for CodeSystem and ValueSet resources.

It's important to note that the implementation uses plain ObjectScript persistent classes as source terminology tables.

Background: We have our own SQL map that predates InterSystems'. A program writes an XML file for each table map class as $system.OBJ.Export would. $system.OBJ.LoadDir loads the XML files into .cls files.

The reason is a long story, but we need to update parameter EXTENTSIZE (only) in existing classes. This does not seem to happen. As a test I used $system.OBJ.Export to make an XML file and edited EXTENTSIZE in the two places it appears in the XML:

If you know the path of a file that exists in the instance's install directory, how can that file be opened and edited in Studio? This file is not saved under the visible directories in Studio ex csp or mgr. For example if you have no access to the server operating system command line, how would you be able to modify a file using Studio?

Portal tip: The inconspicuous Menu button

Amongst the large fonts and chunky icons of Portal's pages, the Menu button in the top left corner is easily overlooked:

When clicked, it often produces the following menu:

When I remember it's there, I find the "View Console Log" option particularly handy.

I wrote "often" above because I've also noticed that the Menu contents change when I'm on a page within the Ensemble section of Portal:

At Global Summit back in April, in his keynote speech, John Paladino mentioned that improvements to our documentation search were being made. You might have wondered, since things seemed to go quiet, whether anything was really happening. Well, we had an internal demo of some of the upcoming features recently, and the new capabilities look really cool – searching documentation has been frustrating for InterSystems staff too! So, I thought it might be good to pass on a few details to give a taste of what is coming. Of course, InterSystems will be putting together much better information
