Presenter: Maxim Vershinin
Task: Easily extend your solution’s range of interoperability
Approach: Build Java-only business services and business operations that exploit open-source Java libraries

Problem: The title states the problem Open source java libraries exist for hundreds of protocols and formats. This session explains how you can easily build java only Business Services and Business Operations to that exploit these libraries to extend the range of interoperability.

GmOwl is a solution that offers an organized and engaging learning platform. It was developed to cater to the increasing need, for learning tools providing a versatile quiz environment that meets users requirements.

The main objective of GmOwl is to deliver an user experience for individuals participating in quizzes while giving administrators comprehensive control, over content and user engagement.

GmOwl uses Java EE with MVC template, and the InterSystems IRIS database is used to store data. The InterSystems JDBC Driver is used to connect to the database.

Presenter: Gerd Nachtsheim
Task: Contribute to and influence open-source communities
Approach: Discuss how the joint efforts of people within and outside of InterSystems created our Hibernate driver and contributed to the Hibernate project

Description: The development of our latest Hibernate driver was a joint effort of multiple groups of people within and outside of InterSystems with different roles that was ultimately contributed to the Hibernate project. Come to this session to learn more about how open-source communities think and how you can leverage and contribute.

Problem: Everyone else appears to be doing open-source contributions, but it doesn’t fit into our company.

Solution: If you find an open source project that is interesting for you or your customers, contribute to that project and make it a better one that is also easier to use within your landscape.

Operation System Permission

Hi all...

I am try to execute a class method from JDBC connection. My method are simple, just create a file at $HOME like this:

set sc='$zf(-1,"touch $HOME/lixo.txt > /var/tmp/log666 2>&1")

I put a log file to this commnad because it's don't work, and in log file i get this:

Overview

In our previous post, we discussed the motivation for developing a chatbot agent with access to FHIR resources. In this post, we will dive into the high-level design aspects of integrating a Streamlit-based chat interface with a Java SpringBoot backend, and enabling a LangChain agent with access to FHIR (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources) via APIs.

Hey Developers,

Develop a Java application that connects to InterSystems IRIS® data platform relationally, natively, or with objects:

Hey Developers,

We're pleased to invite you to join the next InterSystems IRIS 2020.1 Tech Talk: Using Java and .NETon June 16 at 10:00 AM EDT!

In this installment of InterSystems IRIS 2020.1 Tech Talks, we put the spotlight on extending InterSystems IRIS with your own custom Java and .NET code. We will demo how to create a custom interoperability component with the new Productions Extensions (PEX) feature. Following that, we’ll demo how to call Java or .NET code from any ObjectScript code.

What about DMN?

A few months ago, I faced a significant challenge: streamlining the handling of business logic in our application. My goal was to extract the business logic from the code and hand it over to analysts. Dealing with a multitude of rules could easily result in a code littered with countless "if" statements, especially if the coder lacked an understanding of cyclomatic complexity. Such code becomes a source of pain for those working with it—difficult to write, test, and develop.

Hello,

I work on deploying IRIS using Kubernetes operator and Red Hat OpenShift. I encouraged another team working on Java application to consider using IRIS as database. My team deployed IRIS cluster using two mirrored data pods for the other team. The other team asked me for the connection information.

To learn how to use Java with IRIS, I attempted to deploy two apps from Open Exchange:

Hi Everyone!

New video, recorded by @Stefan Wittmann, is already on InterSystems Developers YouTube:

For example, I have two timestamp values ('2024-04-01 10:00:00', '2024-04-01 11:30:30'). I would like to find the difference between these two timestamps, and I need the result in hours:minutes:seconds (hh:mm:ss) format.

Expected Output: 01:30:30

Note: I need an SQL query command. I should not use ClassMethod, Function, or Stored Procedure.

Could anyone please provide me with an SQL query for my question?

[Video] What is PEX

Hi Developers,

See how the Production Extension framework (PEX) allows you to build custom interoperability components in .NET or Java without first learning ObjectScript.

With PEX, you can code in a familiar language and take advantage of established code libraries to add components to a production.

In my previous articles, I described my Command Line Extension to NativeAPI.
Of course, this is also available for any other NativeAPI package.
So I created this example as a demo for the actual Java Contest.
<--break->
The package contains also an IRIS server in Docker for the demo
It is evident that it also works with any remote IRIS server.
You just have to provide it with my NativeAPI CommandLine Extension.

%Projection.Java With IRIS

Hello!

I used %Projection.Java to generate the java proxy classes. Follows the projected class image.

Note that "import com.intersystems.binding.Database" was added but it displays the error cannot find symbol.

Has anyone had this problem, how was it resolved?

Database Management Tool

Introduction

Managing databases and performing CRUD operations are fundamental tasks for developers building data-driven applications. While many database management systems (DBMS) exist, they can be complex and cumbersome to interact with, especially when it comes to creating databases and tables, handling constraints, and performing real-time data operations through an API.
