Is it possible to check retroactive LOCK history?

I found it in the application error log. Some LOCK errors - ERROR #5803
Is it possible to somehow identify the point in the job or process code that caused these locks?

At the moment I no longer have table LOCKS on the server, but I would like, if possible, to check the time at which the incidents occurred.

Hi developers!

Observing the avalanche of AI-driven and vibe-coding developer tools that have been appearing lately almost every month with more and more exciting dev features, I was puzzled whether it is possible to leverage it with InterSystems IRIS. At least to build a frontend. And the answer - yes! At least with the approach I followed.

Here is my recipe to prompt the UI vs InterSystems IRIS Backend:

  1. Have the REST API on the IRIS side, which reflects some Open API (swagger) spec.
  2. Generate the UI with any vibe-coding tool (e.g., Lovable) and point the UI to the REST API endpoint.
  3. Profit!

Here is the result of my own exercise - a 100% prompted UI vs IRIS REST API that allows to list, create, update delete entries of a persistent class (Open Exchange, frontend source, video):

Load and compile error

Hello,

I am using the following:

s status = $SYSTEM.OBJ.Load("myClassName," "c")

and while trying to compile it i get an error that a property or method does not exist, more specifically:

Throughout the forum, I find examples of using the method getSegmentByIndex to get the segment as I loop through the HL7 message segments.

Today I spent way too long trying to figure out why I could not modify the segment with this same method. I reached out to my more experienced team and I showed where I got the base code from what I was doing, but I myself could not find the documentation of the method.

I have an operation using $ZF this operation ran and did not error but the job has been active and it can not be stopped I have tried stopping it from the front end and through the terminal using ##class(ENSLIB.Job).%New() Stop method. Now my production will not update even if I add a new item to the production I cannot update the item is there a way to force stop this job.

Foreign Servers - Visibility?

First time trying to use Foreign Tables/Servers instead of Linked Tables...

Within the SQL Editor inside of the Managment Portal, or connecting through DBeaver JDBC how we can see what Foreign Servers have been defined? Is there a way to query and verify structure of the Foreign Server connection to know that we are building the correct Foreign Tables?

I attempted to create my first Foreign table but it failed when I tried to query the tables because it said the table could not be found. But when I sign into the Database via SQL Management Studio, I can see the table.

How to get server/instance info

Hi all,

As part of the development an API to know what is the instance of IRIS is connected, I've found some methods to know information about the server that can help you.

Get the server name: $SYSTEM.INetInfo.LocalHostName()

Get the server IP: $SYSTEM.INetInfo.HostNameToAddr($SYSTEM.INetInfo.LocalHostName())

Get the instance name: $PIECE($SYSTEM,":",2)

So I know we can run routines using both XECUTE or @
However both of them run slower than just running the routine without it. (that is because as far as i understand, XECUTE command for example will re-compile before running?)

the question is: how can I run a routine by name - and keeping the performance as good as possible?

Hi, I am unsure how to remove this restriction; when I am performing dynamic SQL using ##class(%SQL.Statement).%ExecDirectNoPriv(, .query, args...)

It works fine, but the moment I add specific properties from the persistent class I am performing the select on into the WHERE clause, I get: ERROR #5540: SQLCODE: -99 Message: User UnknownUser is not privileged for the operation. Despite using %ExecDirectNoPriv, I've tried with prepared statement as well, exact same situation.
