Hey all,

I am currently working on a website (with Angular) for displaying the results of UnitTests.

Everything is working fine, except that I can not run a test inside a ClassMethod.

I have 2 classes: One for handling which test class should be invoked and then a test class that is extending %UnitTest.TestCase

The test class:

In Episode 12 of Data Points, we took a slightly different approach! Hear insights from three different guests — Jenny Ames, Gary Maggiolino, and Joey Moritz — about the creation of the all-new chat feature found on multiple InterSystems sites. You can see the chat bot in action on both the Getting Started site and all InterSystems IRIS or IRIS for Health pages on the InterSystems corporate site.

It will be good if outside links in posts can open in new browser window, so you don't leave community page when you click on link. My second comment is if user doesn't upload his profile picture maybe you should use some default picture. Currently it looks like broken picture link.

Tips on handling Large data

Hello community,

I wanted to share my experience about working on Large Data projects. Over the years, I have had the opportunity to handle massive patient data, payor data and transactional logs while working in an hospital industry. I have had the chance to build huge reports which had to be written using advanced logics fetching data across multiple tables whose indexing was not helping me write efficient code.

Here is what I have learned about managing large data efficiently.

Choosing the right data access method.

As we all here in the community are aware of, IRIS provides multiple ways to access data. Choosing the right method, depends on the requirement.

  • Direct Global Access: Fastest for bulk read/write operations. For example, if i have to traverse through indexes and fetch patient data, I can loop through the globals to process millions of records. This will save a lot of time.
Set ToDate=+H
Set FromDate=+$H-1 For Set FromDate=$O(^PatientD("Date",FromDate)) Quit:FromDate>ToDate Do
. Set PatId="" For Set PatId=$Order(^PatientD("Date",FromDate,PatID)) Quit:PatId="" Do
. . Write $Get(^PatientD("Date",FromDate,PatID)),!
  • Using SQL: Useful for reporting or analytical requirements, though slower for huge data sets.

Hi Community,

We're excited to announce a new ↔ Developers Connections activity on Global Masters.

Do you have a tricky question/topic you wish to discuss with someone with hands-on experience? We want to make it easy for you to network, brainstorm ideas and discuss questions with your peers.

Now you can request a connection on a certain topic via Global Masters challenge, and also reply to others' requests! Check out the "Connections" channel

I'm hoping someone here has some tips. I'm trying to filter by d/t in a routing rule. Basically if before a specific d/t, send to one feed. If after, send to another. The d/t time is in a yyyymmddhhmmss format. I've tried a couple things but can't get it to work as expected. Any tips to accomplish this would be appreciated.

Hi All,

I'm having a strange issue where doing a .setValue on a ZEN datacombo is updating it with the value as-is, not the corresponding display value. Eg, if I connected it to query that returns two columns: ID,Name, and do a setValue(ID), I would expect the text in the datacombo to update showing Name. Instead it updates show ID, which I only want to use internally.

Hi,

is it possible to avoid the display of certain properties in a custom message class in the message viewer content section. The message class is a common Ens.Request with a bunch of properties alongside one property of Type enslib.dicom.document wich in Turn is Not extended By %XML.Adaptor so the content display of course displays an error.

My idea is to avoid the display of That certain property When output is rendered (Text/XML). Using Ens.Util.MessageBodyMethods and method %OnShowContents could be a way to do this But i don‘t find a way to do so.

Our application has a ZEN report that accepts a sorting parameter and a fundraiser parameter. Sorting tells us which order the pages are to be in and the fundraiser limits the data shown (e.g. which user has requested the report)

Migrating from Oracle, MSSQL, or other purely relational database systems to a multimodel InterSystems IRIS is a strategic decision that requires careful planning and execution. While this transition offers significant benefits, including enhanced performance, scalability, and support for modern architectures, it also comes with challenges. In this article I will highlight some of the considerations connected to coding to ensure a successful migration. I will leave everything connected to an actual migration of structures and data outside the scope of this article.

First, when you're considering migrating to a different database system, you need to understand your business logic, whether it's on the side of the application (application server) or the database server. Basically, where do you have your SQL statements that you will need to potentially rewrite?
