⏯️ Auto-scaling made easy in GKE with InterSystems Kubernetes Operator (IKO)

Kubernetes horizontal pod auto-scaling (HPA) is the key to handle the unpredictable compute workload in healthcare systems. IKO helps orchestrating the IRIS container deployment in Kubernetes including the capability to configure HPA. This demo uses XSLT processing as an example to showcase this type of elasticity.

I want to do this to match strings such as X98. Community AI tells me this is correct but I get an error in testing. Specifically, this is the part causing the error;
..Matches(source.{ORCgrp(x1).OBRuniongrp.NTEi2(x2):Comment(x3)},"^[A-Z][0-9][0-9]$")

What do I need to change?

⏯️ Being READY to Tackle Healthcare Enterprise Challenges in a Few Clicks

Managed Cloud Solutions to Help Streamline Your Health Services.

This demo showcases composing several InterSystems Managed Cloud Services to solve various use-cases.

The video is actually built of 6 short chapters (each ~2.5 minutes long) showing each part of the story, demoing a different service.

You can watch each "chapter" individually if you're interested in a specific service, but there is value in viewing the whole composition and observing the full flow.

  • 0:00 Health Connect Cloud - Medical Device MQTT - HL7v2 for Hospital Operation Systems
  • 2:29 FHIR Server & FHIR Transformation Service - HL7v2 to FHIR & Repository for Regulation & Exchange
  • 5:21 FHIR SQL Builder - Providing standard relational access to FHIR data
  • 7:22 "FHIR IntelliChat" (see note below) - Natural human language chat with FHIR Server
  • 9:37 OMOP Solution - FHIR to OMOP transformation & OMOP database with OHDSI tools compliance
  • 12:54 InterSystems Data Fabric Studio for Health - Creating a multi data/app sources fabric

[Note the "FHIR IntelliChat" part is not an actual formal InterSystems service, it is just a demonstration of a possibility (based on this solution by @José Pereira) ]

I’ve been exploring options for connecting Google Cloud Pub/Sub with InterSystems IRIS/HealthShare, but I noticed that IRIS doesn’t seem to ship with any native inbound/outbound adapters for Pub/Sub. Out of the box, IRIS offers adapters for technologies like Kafka, HTTP, FTP, and JDBC, which are great for many use cases, but Pub/Sub appears to be missing from the list.

⏯️ Data Transformation Adventures with InterSystems IRIS

Navigating interoperability and healthcare can be an exciting adventure. In this demo, we will show you how InterSystems IRIS can be the perfect tool to get data - wherever it may lie, in whatever format, into a format of your choice, including FHIR! Once that is done, analytics is a piece of cake with the FHIR SQL Builder and Deep See Web. Let the questing begin!

⏯️ Autonomous Business Intelligent Clerk (ABiC) - Combining InterSystems BI and Generative AI

Our Autonomous Business Intelligent Clerk, or ABiC for short, is a prototype revolutionizing how companies process data and make decisions. Normally, to get insights from data, you’d need IT knowledge or expertise in statistics. But with ABiC, that’s no longer necessary. All you have to do is ask your question in plain language. ABiC understands your interests and intentions, then shows a clear dashboard to guide your decisions. With ABiC, complex data is autonomously analyzed and turned into answers that support users, helping to accelerate business processes. This demo sends the metadata of InterSystems BI cubes to LLM. How does it work? Check out the video for more details!

Using a WSDL and the SOAP wizard I created a WebServiceClient, and Operation to send an encoded message to a Vendor. But the vendor is now sending back an HL7 in the SOAP response.

I tried updating the Operation to Extend EnsLib.HL7.Operation.ReplyStandard, but still use the EnsLib.SOAP.OutboundAdapter. When I did this it broke my Operation and would not compile with the following error...

Often times when working with FHIR data, for example with IRIS For Health, you'll find it useful to create a custom FHIR operation. The FHIR Standard comes with a set of defined operations (such as $everything) but a custom operation comes in handy when you need to create some extra functionality that goes beyond the set of standard FHIR operations.

We have a task that runs objectscript code to load data into a linked external table. After upgrading from 2024.1 to 2025.1, the load is throwing an error, with error code -400, and no error message. The data DOES get loaded into the external table in its entirety, so with no meaningful error message, its hard to determine what the issue is. The result is the same with and without the USING clause, so don't let that confuse you. We have logs of this statement succeeding before upgrade, and were able to get this statement to work in our production environment, which is still on version 2

Is there a way to Remove specific all Addresses from a Provider.Individual.Address before reinserting the Addresses from an HL7 message in Provider Directory?

Most fields we can call %clearFields() however since Addresses come from multiple locations we need to isolate and treat Addresses from this HL7 source as a snapshot.

Thanks

Scott

We currently have Business Operation that we built to use the EnsLib.SQL.OutboundAdapter so we can make Microsoft SQL Server Stored Procedure calls. The BO is attached to a Java Gateway Service.

Some of our MS SQL Databases have moved from being OnPrem to Azure Cloud. We have started seeing where we are receiving errors on the BO saying that we cannot connect to the Azure Database, but we never receive a Disconnect from the Azure Database.

Background

For a variety of reasons, users may wish to mount a persistent volume on two or more pods spanning multiple availability zones. One such use case is to make data stored outside of IRIS available to both mirror members in case of failover.

Unfortunately the built-in storage classes in most Kubernetes implementations (whether cloud or on-prem) do not provide this capability:

Hi Everyone, I'm Prakash Hinduja, a financial advisor and consultant. My roots in India now living in Geneva, Switzerland (Swiss). I'm looking for some suggestions on how to get the best performance from Adaptive Analytics 2023.2. I know it uses Adaptive Parallel Execution and automatic aggregates, but I'm curious if you've found any other tips or tricks. For example, are there any specific data modeling choices or system configurations that have worked well for you? I'm trying to make our cubes as responsive as possible. Thanks in advance for any insights!

Regards

FDN Help

New to using FDN, and the Form Wizard on learning.intersystems.com does not go into enough detail to help with my questions...

  1. Is there a way to control text size within the Form Definition?
  2. Is there a way to make Sections more of a Page based caching then, waiting for the entire page to load?

A step by step implementation path to a cross regional stretched IrisCluster with Mirroring using the Intersystems Kubernetes Operator (IKO), Google Cloud Platform, and Tailscale.

I am giving this distraction the code name "Compliment Sandwich" for a reason yet to be realized, but I'd rather the community go right for the jugular shooting holes in a solution that implements wireguard based connectivity for our workloads in general, as I would like to refine it as a fall project leading up to KubeCon in Atlanta and if I miss the mark, Ill get it done before Amsterdam.
