PHP, from the beginning of its time, is renowned (and criticized) for supporting integration with a lot of libraries, as well as with almost all the DB existing on the market. However, for some mysterious reasons, it did not support hierarchical databases on the globals.

Globals are structures for storing hierarchical information. They are somewhat similar to key-value database with the only difference being that the key can be multi-level:

Suppose you have an application that allows users to write posts and comment on them. (Wait... that sounds familiar...)

For a given user, you want to be able to list all of the published posts with which that user has interacted - that is, either authored or commented on. How do you make this as fast as possible?

As noted in the previous article Native API has some limits.
So I did some research on a more Terminal-like interface that
provides me with access like a console or the IRIS terminal
to allow my $QUERY over a global and other nice commands
that are not supported/mapped in NativeAPI for ObjectScript.

The basic tools are well-prepared and available.

The challenge of today has nothing to do with real two-factor authentication ! (sorry if you came to this article by searching the real thing)

You may have seen my series of articles on GlobalToJSON closing with Embedded Python.
And to me, Embedded means inside a Class and not PEX or other external variants.
The first variants showed that ePy is not an ultimate requirement. ISOS/COS may do it as well.
Here I try to position ePy inside IRIS.

Moving over from Studio To VSCode like many other will do now the ObjectScript plugin reached version 1.0, I noticed I was missing some items in the objectscript explorer. For example when creating a Rest API using the spec first approach, 3 classes are generated, an application.impl, application.disp and application.spec class, but the disp class was missing in the Object Explorer.

As the application.disp is a generated class, for showing these classes you need to turn this on by hitting the switch on the object explorer:

In today's challenge, you have to execute instructions that control how bots are handling microchips.

This package offers a utility to export an XLarge Global into a JSON object file and to show
or import it again. In a previous example, this all was processed in memory. But if this is a
large Global you may either experience <MAXSTRING> or an <STORE> error
if the generated JSON structure exceeds available memory.

Object Synchronization is a feature that has been around for a while, since Caché days, but I wanted to explore a bit more how it works. I've always thought that database automatic synchronization is complex by nature but, for some particular scenarios shouldn't be so hard. So I considered a very simple use case (OK, perhaps the typical one, I'm not discovering anything... but if it's common and it works, it's good ).
