Many updates and enhancements have been added in 2023.1 and there are also brand-new capabilities, such as production-ready support for Columnar Storage, ability to use Bulk FHIR, and support to MacOS 13 Ventura. Additionally, a new feature to provide the ability to use Foreign Tables is being released as "experimental" and will be accessible through an Early Access Program (EAP). Some of these features or improvements may not be available in this current developer preview.

InterSystems has corrected a defect that can cause an SQL query to return incorrect results.

The defect exists in the following products and any InterSystems offerings based on them.

I have been creating a class to handle file encryption by using GPG keys. I pushed my code out today and my encrypt and decrypt methods weren't working. About a half an hour later in troubleshooting I found out that it needed to be a syntax change. My method has three parameters to it. Examples below:

This is how I was calling it in the test system with no issues:

do gpg.Encrypt()

This is how I was having to call it in my production system to work with no issues:

do gpg.Encrypt("","","")

There are two records of the same patient coming from the same source and when they are merged from the source they are not updating Health Information Exchange. I have blurred crucial information and the records are not falling off the worklist items after a merge from the source system.

we get HL7 MDM messages with embedded PDF documents that are Base64 encoded. When the embedded PDF document exceeds the size of 3.6 MB the following error occurs:

In other posts I read that you can avoid these errors, if you use the data type %VarString instead of normal %String.

Fun or No Fun - how serious is it?

Large language models are stirring up some phenomena in recent months. So inevitably I was playing ChatGPT too over last weekend, to probe whether it would be a complimentary to some BERT based "traditional" AI chatbots I was knocking up, or rather would it simply sweep them away. 
A thought comes to mind while playing. By going slightly theoretical or philosophical, eventually interoperability standards such as HL7 and FHIR etc are kind of "languages", right? HL7 has its own grammar, rules, vocabulary and even dialects - every system speaks its own tone.

I'm trying to enable an existing namespace to be Ensemble enabled by doing the command do ##class(%EnsembleMgr).EnableNamespac($namespace,1), but I'm still getting the error message. Is there something that I'm missing? 

I've attempted to reboot the server and even went incognito to see if it was a caching issue, but I'm still not able to create an Ensemble production in that namespace.

When I do a write ##class(%EnsembleMgr).IsEnsembleInstalled() it returns a 1. The same goes for the command write ##class(%EnsembleMgr).IsEnsembleNamespace().

I was wondering if anyone had any input on how to troubleshoot classes in a terminal session? I'm currently writing an "adapter" so that way we can encrypt and decrypt files through GNUPG (PGP keys).

I currently have a %RegisteredObject class for this and am running into the excruciating pain of testing this. Every time I make a change on the RegisteredObject I have to renew the class and all of its properties in order to test the newly compiled code that I have written. I know that this doesn't seem like too much of a hassle, but after doing it multiple times it becomes tiring.

We're having an issue with an inbound message to a Healthshare Business Service where the '£' sign is not being recognised and is being passed onto our downstream systems as '?'.

We are using the 'latin1' selection for the Encoding.

Does anyone know the correct Char Encoding to use to remedy this issue?

InterSystems is pleased to announce the 2022.3 release of InterSystems IRIS Data Platform, InterSystems IRIS for Health, HealthShare Health Connect, and InterSystems IRIS Studio are now Generally Available (GA).

2022.3 is a Continuous Delivery (CD) release. Many updates and enhancements have been added in 2022.3, in SQL management, cloud integration, Kafka and JMS adapters, the SQL Loader, and other areas. The new FHIR SQL Builder and enhancements to Columnar Storage are included, but both are still experimental features (not for production, with an active Early Access Program in place).

Hi community! I would like to show you how to install and configure one of the HealthShare products, the Enterprise Master Patient Index or EMPI.

We are going to start with a HealthShare instance installed in our server, this HealthShare should contains the EMPI functionality available.

I'm wondering how I would go about adding headers to a csv file which has already been created. I am unfamiliar with ObjectScript. 

For example if I were to use R, I would simply write..

I do not have embedded Python installed either as I would know how to do it in that also.

How could I mirror this in ObjectScript please?

Is this what fhir can be used for?

In the past I have done the normal SQL query/extract to CSV file.  Looking to use fhir for this for future.

Can someone confirm that HealthShare Health Connect 2022.2 is the correct latest release that is available via the Online Distribution? I tried looking at the HealthShare Health Connect on WRC and now do not see a 2022.2 or 2022.3 version. Is this correct? So I shouldn't be running 2022.2? Did Health Connect get renamed? A couple of months ago I downloaded HealthConnect-2022.2.0.368.0-lnxrh8x64 but not seeing it now on the WRC site.

InterSystems has corrected an issue that can cause InterSystems IRIS® and Caché to not take advantage of large pages for shared memory on Windows, even though these products report that large pages are allocated. This can have detrimental effects on system performance.

The issue results from a change in Windows 10 that requires modification of InterSystems IRIS® and Caché. Note that this issue also affects all InterSystems products that are based on InterSystems IRIS® or Caché.
