Welcome to the first quarterly platform update of 2024. If you’re new to these updates, welcome! This update aims to share recent changes as well as our best current knowledge on upcoming changes, but predicting the future is tricky business and this shouldn’t be considered a committed roadmap.
We've reached the end of this #GlobalSummit23 - the last day! And this is our day - programmers' day. The keynotes today were all dedicated to the developers, their growth, aspirations and innovations.
%SQLRESTRICT is a special %FILTER clause for use in MDX queries in InterSystems IRIS Business Intelligence. Since this function begins with %, it means this is a special MDX extension created by InterSystems. It allows users to insert an SQL statement that will be used to restrict the returned records in the MDX Result Set. This SQL statement must return a set of Source Record IDs to limit the results by. Please see the documentation for more information.
Why is this useful?
This is useful because there are often times users want to restrict the results in their MDX Result Set based on information that is not in their cubes. It may be the case that this information may not make sense to be in the cube. Other times this can be useful when there is a large set of values you want to restrict. As mentioned before, this is not a standard MDX function, it was created by InterSystems to handle cases were queries were not performing well or cases that were not easily solved by existing functions.
Often we need to use relatively small arrays with constants, static arrays in algorithms, etc where we need to do something with each element of an array. There are several ways to deal with it in ObjectSctipt.
Previously I used to use globals, locals, PPG for this but not so long time ago figured out that %List is a way too handy.
Indeed, suppose we have an array of months and need to set up and use it in our code.
During my repeated testing with Docker Desktop, I'm often short on disk space nd need to clean it over and over as described earlier. The main reason is the rather uncontrolled growth of ext4.vhdx that is located on my C: drive by default. So I decided to move this file to a large external disk.
I'm sharing a tool for data ingestion that we have used in some projects.
DataPipe is an interoperability framework for data ingestion in InterSystems IRIS in a flexible way. It allows you to receive data from external sources, normalize and validate the information and finally perform whatever operation you need with your data.
Early Access Program (EAP) is a way to to deliver specific features early to a group of people who will test and provide feedback on that feature.
One of those EAPs is about the the discontinuation of the Apache web server installation (a.k.a. NoPWS) from IRIS product installers. If you're interested in this topic and want to test it, the way to register is to send an email to nopws@intersystems.com. Use this same email for any other feedback.
I am using the free Intersystems Cache installation (CachePCkit V2017.1) on Windows 10 for my own use & personal development. I am writing routines in Studio & running them in the Cache terminal TRM:3672 (TRYCACHE). From a routine, how do I control print position within the terminal screen. I have tried using $X and $Y but this does not work and I cannot find what I need within the Cache terminal documentation.
Hope this question is not too simplistic for Members. Any suggestion would be appreciated.
We have a development instance of cache that was installed and the person that installed and set it up is no longer here. We have no id's that we have the passwords for. I have brought the database up in emergency mode and I can get access thru the terminal using my emergency id but I do not know how to add a user/password thru the terminal. Can someone enlighten me or point me to documentation that I haven't found yet.
We're pleased to invite you to the InterSystems Benelux Symposium 2020, which will take place from February 11th to 12th in Antwerp, Belgium!
At the Symposium, both InterSystems experts and external thought leaders will discuss what it takes to make your IT innovation work. You're more than welcome to join us in the Radisson Blu Astrid Hotel in Antwerp.
Fastest Path to Possible - With Digital Innovation
I have an xml file that I read into objects and I am trying to print that file back in nested xml anyone with idea on how that can be achieved or where I can read in order to achieve this, here is an example of what I am trying to do.
Hello, I've checked past posts and don't see the answer. Hope someone can help.
I'm working with our commercial version of VistA. Cache 2016.2.
I've connected to the instance and copied a few M routines to my local Atelier project. I edited a comment in the file and attempted to save/compile the routine back to the server.
I'm getting
Synchronization failed: Invalid header in /Encounter Interface/VFD.......
Is there something I'm missing? Thanks in advance.
I see that there is an "Insert Special Character" option from the text editor where "é" can be selected, but would it be possible to create a "Caché" button that inserts the word "Caché"? I can see cases where mixing these words can be confusing. An even more important reason would be searching. If the word "Cache" is used instead of "Caché" in many places, it may be difficult to find information about the "Cache".
If a "Caché" button existed, it may encourage the correct spelling to be used. I am not sure if this is a real problem, but I see the possibility of it happening.
Is there any simple way to query data about processed messages in all Ensemble productions?
What I ultimately would like to do is to periodically export that data to another system and run statistics on it.
I've been digging around in the SQL tables view and Ens.MessageHeader seems to contain most of what I'm after.
Using ODBC I could access that table view and query data, but only for one namespace per DSN it seems.
The healthcare technology market is in strong evolution. Gartner's wave chart for healthcare technologies demonstrates what these technologies are, very well reflected by healthcare.digital. I call this HealthTech See:
These technologies can use InterSystems technologies (ISC Health Tech), see:
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is getting a lot of attention lately because it can change many areas of our lives. Better computer power and more data have helped AI do amazing things, like improving medical tests and making self-driving cars. AI can also help businesses make better decisions and work more efficiently, which is why it's becoming more popular and widely used. How can one integrate the OpenAI API calls into an existing IRIS Interoperability application?
I recently participated in a fantastically organized hands-on by @Patrick Jamieson in which an Angular application was configured together with an IRIS FHIR server following the protocols defined by SMART On FHIR and I found it really interesting, so I decided to develop my own Angular application and thus take advantage of what I learned to publish it in the Community.
SMART On FHIR
Let's see what Google tells us about SMART On FHIR:
Is there a way to run code on another machine? Of course, all authentication info is known. I know only about RemoteResultSet but that seems to be query specific.
